Mark Belling Conservative Radio Talk Host (Also Guest Host for Rush Limbaugh) on WISN Radio 1130 in Milwaukee exposes a Wisconsin union scam.

Teachers retired and started collecting pension and health benefits have been rehired again as teachers for this year in same school district.

This is double dipping and certainly is costing the taxpayers and also new teacher applicants that didn't get hired at a lower new teacher salary.

Mark Belling on his radio show today (you can hear his podcast here - http://www.belling.com/) exposes teacher union scam.

Yesterday mark rerported on 2 teachers from North Lake School District that retired and started to collect their pension and health benefits have been rehired at their old salaries.

Today, he stated that this is more widespread and could be as high as 1000 teachers.

There has been no mention in the great WI newspaper Milwaukee Journal (sarc) and Belling stated they they could probably get the Pulitzer (again) if they would investigate and report the truth.

Gotta be kickbacks to those making hiring decisions.

He needs to pursue this.

It will push Mark way up the conservative pundit list.

Great job Mr Beling!

Your link takes me to a place from which I can't (unless I have all night) find what you are referencing.

Wish I had some crumbs to trace my way back.

Mark,

May I suggest that you hire security and keep a keen eye on your back from now on?

They’re not only being rehired, they’re being rehired to their same positions with their same seniority wages while collecting full pensions.

I’ve listened to Mark for 16 years.
I am listening again today.

I was glad to hear him say that there is a WI State elected official (of course I can’t remember his name) that called the show off the air today, to say he is drafting legislation to stop this pillaging of our property tax dollars.

I am sick to death of public teachers and their buddies.

Our taxes are punitive. They are becoming a large percentage of our income. They really will tax people out of their homes.

Mark has said all year, that there really is no “low” too “low” for these publicly paid leeches. Retiring and drawing a pension and then getting re-hired by cronies on the school board and getting a full salary at the old pay rate while “retired”.....and then there are the “emeritus” retired public teachers who get paid for 3 years after they retire, for doing nothing. That story was around this spring here on FR too.

These people are ungrateful crooks.

“He also wondered if this double dipping phenomena was confined only to school districts”

I am so fortunate to work with a guy in the public utility business who is a double dipper. He worked for the Akron Ohio water district, then retired, on full pension, and then was hired to work in a suburban district. He gets great pay, and retirement too. He’s one of the laziest sobs I’ve ever had to cover for! Not only is he incredibly lazy, he couldn’t care less about his prime responsibility, the health and safety of the consumers! This jerk wouldn’t have lasted a week working for me. He’s making 4 times what I get!

Does this mean they get their retirement and a salary?

Wisconsin "public" employees (teachers, police, firefighters, game wardens, &c.) are covered by the Wisconsin Retirement System which allows a retiree to be rehired for full employment. The pension benefit is suspended during the new term of employment and additional information is collected to update maximum salary and length of employment duration statistics. The new factors are used to recalculate the pension to be started when the employee again retires. The ultimate pension number is based on the three highest salaried years and the total number of years employed.

Regards,
GtG

PS I really don't see why anyone would do that 'cuz it doesn't eliminate the rule changes on your health insurance. Retiring now a person would get the single person coverage WEA plan, which is $#100 deductible and pretty much everything else medical covered.

They do it here in Texas as well. I have a friend who retired two years ago from teaching took a year off to travel and is now back as a teacher collecting his pension and teacher pay. He did have to move to a different school district. He of course is a Yellow Dog democRat and sees nothing wrong with what he is doing.

Re: kickbacks.

In a lot of cases, those on the school boards are spouses of those on the other side of the “negotiating” table. And if they are not spouses, they are other relatives or friends, or former teachers themselves.

What we’ve had in WI for decades, are school boards that are nothing more than partners in crime with the teacher’s union and public teachers.

They’re all on the same side, with the taxpayer having no say at all.

It will take years to root out all the corruption. This double dipping scam is technically legal, but morally bankrupt. Like so many things that liberals do.

“They do it here in Texas as well.”

I was under the impression that only teaching jobs in shortage fields - mathematics, reading specialists, special ed - would qualify for hire / rehire teachers. I knew a few teachers in the program also, but the school districts have found younger and less expensive teachers.
