While Washington, D.C., is increasingly consumed with bickering between Democrats and Republicans, the U.S.-Israel relationship remains the one issue that transcends the partisan divide. In a display of this bipartisan spirit, more than half of Congress will attend tonight's Gala Banquet, which will fill a room large enough to fit the Washington Monument on its side.
This year, however, for the first time ever, Hall D/E, as massive as it is, cannot fit all delegates and guests for a sit-down dinner. As a result, all student delegates will be seated in the Ballroom Banquet in Ballrooms A, B and C. Each banquet will feature live and simulcast appearances as well as unique programming. The major speakers tonightIsraeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, House Majority Leader John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reidwill appear personally in both banquet halls.
Representatives from more than 65 countriesincluding ambassadors from China, South Africa, Mexico, Turkey and the Netherlandswill be seated at tonight's dinner.
Senators, members of Congress, administration officials, foreign diplomats and other VIPs at the banquets will have their names read during the Roll Call, a lively Policy Conference tradition that has been a crowd favorite for many years. AIPAC National Board members Amy Friedkin and Michael Tuchin will join AIPAC Executive Director Howard Kohr for the Roll Call.
The Gala Banquet will be the end of a full day of Monday programming. The morning kicks off with an address by Reverend Dr. Tony Crisp. After the morning plenary, delegates will head to lobbying workshops, where they will learn from AIPAC's top experts how to make the case for Israel on Capitol Hill tomorrow.
Gotta love the hummus!!
Like the fools at Pastor Hagee’s church last Sunday.
Probably. Lots of left wing marxists in AIPAC...sad to say.
He’s obviously experienced, and with good instincts!
Yes..that would be wonderful.
I wish it was a resignation memo! :)
Says they are working on a substitute for gasoline.
If successful, we can change history.
Thanks Boehner for the inviotation to speak before Congress tomorrow.
Says: “ I INTEND TO SPEAK THE UNVARNISHED TRUTH!”
All Right! Thank you John Boehner for that invitation.
He might like his hooch, but thanks to John for that.
Can’t wait for Bibi to speak the “unvarnished truth” to those Congresscritters!
Exactly the one I was thinking of.
“I WILL SPEAK THE UNVARNISHED TRUTH!!”
What a refreshing idea! Wish our “leaders” would follow suit!
No leader has the class and quick wit that BiBi has...he is simply a dynamic leader on stage and up close and personal. A sheer pleasure to hear and watch!
Says : The problems of the region are not rooted in Israel!”
Amen, Bibi.
“I intend to speak the unvarnished truth.”
We know it when we hear it!
The problems of the region are not because of Israel.
You tell ‘em Bibi!
“Cant wait for Bibi to speak the unvarnished truth to those Congresscritters!”
Yes, give ‘em heck Bibi!
Oh BiBi’s addressing the guy who set himself on fire...another hit on Obama!
No teleprompter in sight! Yes..
The teleprompter thing is one thing that the media does not speak about with Obama, but if it was a Republican Holy Cow it would be the focus of their reporting!
The problems of the region are not rooted in Israel!
Woot! It’s time to stop blaming Israel for the region’s problems!
Amen!
