While Washington, D.C., is increasingly consumed with bickering between Democrats and Republicans, the U.S.-Israel relationship remains the one issue that transcends the partisan divide. In a display of this bipartisan spirit, more than half of Congress will attend tonight's Gala Banquet, which will fill a room large enough to fit the Washington Monument on its side.
This year, however, for the first time ever, Hall D/E, as massive as it is, cannot fit all delegates and guests for a sit-down dinner. As a result, all student delegates will be seated in the Ballroom Banquet in Ballrooms A, B and C. Each banquet will feature live and simulcast appearances as well as unique programming. The major speakers tonightIsraeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, House Majority Leader John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reidwill appear personally in both banquet halls.
Representatives from more than 65 countriesincluding ambassadors from China, South Africa, Mexico, Turkey and the Netherlandswill be seated at tonight's dinner.
Senators, members of Congress, administration officials, foreign diplomats and other VIPs at the banquets will have their names read during the Roll Call, a lively Policy Conference tradition that has been a crowd favorite for many years. AIPAC National Board members Amy Friedkin and Michael Tuchin will join AIPAC Executive Director Howard Kohr for the Roll Call.
The Gala Banquet will be the end of a full day of Monday programming. The morning kicks off with an address by Reverend Dr. Tony Crisp. After the morning plenary, delegates will head to lobbying workshops, where they will learn from AIPAC's top experts how to make the case for Israel on Capitol Hill tomorrow.
David Victor’s coming across well - if he’s NOT a liberal he should run for office... he’s good.
Well whatever you may look like MestaMachine I am sure you have nice hair too, lol.
I AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.
Please accept my sympathies. I lost my Lola last August.
So sorry my post was so snarky...
Was that your buddy in the picture? Just precious doggy.
SORRY! In at the end what channel
Woooohoooo!
GOOD on Greta!!!
Nice post. His authentic self confidence and intelligence are sexy too. He is a great speaker.
I bet Obama had his speech writer do it for him. It reminds me a lot of one of O’s speeches.
HEEERRRRRE’S BIBI!!!!!!!!!
His whole speech was lame.
Well at least he didn't cry.
I heard some cheering!
I hope so...but the American Jews need to get a tongue lashing as far as I’m concerend...at least this group here tonight! I’m making some judgements here...
Here he comes!!!!!!!
Is it me or does the applause seem muted - might be the cheesy music, though.
Finally!! Bibi...I love you!!
BIBI IS ONNNNNNNNN!
At the podium.
Security man right behind him.
Standing ovation, deservedly so.
Wow he has a body guard!
About time.
sounds like music from Lawrence of Arabia
I get the impression the RATS know that the unwashed (that would be us) aren't falling for the faux memo talking points. That's why all the blah, blah, blah is saturating the media. They know it isn't working and they still keep it up....smacks of desperation if you ask me.
Oblabla screwed the pooch when he went to messin' with Israel and there isn't any "walking it back" on this one! You DON'T EVER mess with Isreal and avoid the wrath of red-blooded Americans!
I thought he had a shiner a couple of weeks ago...but it’s still there. I wonder what’s up?
