major tornado hit south side,,hospital damage..home destroyed
the weather channel live coming up
Doesn’t look like the storms have reached the Springfield, Mo area yet. They could be getting it in about 30-60 minutes. These storms seem to be moving eastward and are moving slowly.
I am in HSV. We had another warning today.
Live rescue scanner traffic. Setting up a landing zone for medical evacuation helicopters.

I just heard that the Lowes Store half a block away from my in-laws was totally destroyed. I think that they must have been hit pretty hard. Mr. RR is rather stoic, but still freaking out deep down. Hope we hear something soon. His brother is on his way to Joplin now from eastern Kansas. Said most of the roads were blocked by downed trees and power lines, but he knows the back roads to get there.
Thanks for all the prayers.
Hwy 59 in the Jay, OK area has been closed due to debris and damage.
I was probably 15-20 blocks west of Rangeline.
Possible major damage there since I heard the Walmart was hit and it should be about 20th and Rangeline.
Please keep us posted and I am praying for your mother-in-law. Chances are good that all is fine, but I’d almost guarantee she’s got damage.
Let’s give it a little bit but if you need for me to check on her, I would be happy to. They are requesting everyone stay off the streets but if I were to check on someone it would be justified. The traffic is terrible and emergency vehicles are having trouble getting through.
All I keep hearing on the news is please stay home.
Did you hear anything yet? If not, I’m really feeling the need to check on grandma!
MamaB,
I heard the sirens in Huntsville today too.
It was so odd. I had turned the tv on and was trying to find something to watch without any luck. I finally turned the weather channel on and just a few minutes later they issued the tornado warning. Got a msg from Dan the Man on FB and he said no weather people were at the station. He said they got there in a hurry! I just imagine they did.
Possible rotation developing just west of Bentonville, AR in the Centerton area (about 4 miles), moving east.
Please keep us updated, I could head down that way but it would probably take me as long as him. I think it’s going to take him alot longer than he thinks. No stop lights are working.
Probably best to come up interstate.
I saw coverage of this on TWC. It looks horrible.
When we were without power, drivers treated lights as a 4 way stop. It worked great the few times I was out. We were also under a dusk to dawn curfew. That helped with crime, wrecks, etc.
We lived on south picher in Joplin years ago right across from the hospital. Did it get hit?
yes direct hit..most windows blown out and the roof off...they fear an explosion..
report of people blown out of windows on ther 6th floor
There is a UStream LIVE rebroadcast that can be found HERE, (it's not of a good quality but I can't get thew TWC broadcast to load).
WHAT?
Slow down....take a deep breath.........

Bless your heart. My brother-in-law is on his way to Joplin right now. He is a County Sheriff in eastern Kansas and also an EMT. Says the roads are blocked with power lines and trees, but he knows the back roads to get there.
Yeah, almost everyone understands that concept. There are those few jerks who don’t care or are in such a hurry to check on loved ones that they just don’t care.
99% of the folks understand the concept.
this was the Walmart in Joplin
