Brit Humes just ripped Newt for his attacks on Paul Ryan plan
Monday May 16,2011

Posted on 05/16/2011 8:27:47 AM PDT by Bigtigermike

Brit Hume trashed Newt on Fox and called him nothing less than a Bomb thrower.  That's an understatement. Brit said that Newt attacked Paul Ryan and handed a talking point to the Democrats......"vote for a Republican and Medicare will be gone."  All that on day 5 of his campaign. Brit pretty much said that Newt is going to implode even faster than he did as Speaker of the House. He complimented Ryan for his detailed plan and ridicules Newt for not offering anything but a lot of noise.

I agree with your sentiments on Hume. He’s been the best anchor in the nation for many years and whoever is next is not even close. Just think that Megyn thing might derail any political hopes he did, or did not, have.

I was sorta proud of him.

Newt is a college professor with all the mental baggage.

he simply thinks, based on his conduct, he is smarter than ANYONE else. He is a member of the DC aristocracy and is just waiting for his powdered wig.

Gingrich apparently believes that the key to winning the GOP nomination is to play to “moderates” and so he goes and calls Ryan’s plan “right wing social engineering”. What a freaking maroon.

Buh-bye, Newt, you stinking loser.

Ryan’s budget plan is the Contract With America on steroids.

Newt has gone way off the conservative reservation.

Gingrich will never be potus.

I taped Brit on my VCR and tried to put in an email to my friends all he had to say based upon the tape. This is what I sent below:

“Newt is giving ammo to the Democrats and attacking Ryan who is a hero to many Republican voters and to much of the party leaders. He calls the Ryan plan radical and social engineering and not long ago Newt said that if he were in the House, he would have voted for the Ryan plan. He has no alternative plan. He talked about voluntary migration to better outcomes and solutions. What on earth does that mean? Is there a full blown Gingrich plan? Here we have Ryan with a detailed plan. This is truly remarkable! Does he really want to be nominated by the Republican party? He is a bomb thrower and attacked a fellow Republican. Called the Ryan plan “Right Wing Social Engineering.” Brit Hume said if Newt favors the Individual Mandate, that is social engineering. Hume said if it does not help the Republicans to win the Presidency with this in fighting.

The problem is there are two Newts the good Newt and the Bad Newt, and you never know which one is going to show up.

Where did you find the transcript? Could you provide Newt’s quote about supporting the mandate?

Well done Brit!

Newt is SO entrenched in the bubble of D.C. that he may not even grasp what he’s done.

Fool.

And there goes the shortest Presidential campaign in history.

Indeed. I've been following this story with amazement. Newt's statements make no sense at all from any perspective. I would love for someone to answer this question:

What was/is he thinking?
