The surprise release follows recent and sustained remarks by businessman Donald Trump, among others, that raised doubts as to whether the president was born in the United States.

At the above-referenced site, there is a 1973 Hawaiian COLB where the father’s race is listed as “American” and the mother’s as “Hawaiian.”

There is also a link to the 1962 instructions for the Kenyan census. Kenyans were instructed to identify their race as “Write European, Arab, Somali, or African, etc. Asians must write Indian or Pakistan.”

I am listening to Obama at the news conference. Based on his demeanor, his voice — this is a all a con. That is my impression is he and Hawaii are tendering what they know to be a fraudulent certificate. He is unsure if the con will make it through, so he is downplaying why it took so long to release, and trying to force everyone to “move on”.
