(CNN) The White House released President Obama’s original birth certificate Wednesday.

The surprise release follows recent and sustained remarks by businessman Donald Trump, among others, that raised doubts as to whether the president was born in the United States.

All but the last category of the foregoing list requires intent to deceive. A lie is not the same as stating a sincerely held belief that happens to be wrong. If Ronald Reagan's rule is to be observed here, we need to cut each other some slack. These are all very interesting questions, and there are people who spend their careers detecting fraud who think they've found something here. That means, statistically, most people who doubt Obama's eligibility can have a reasonable doubt without sacrificing their integrity. That also means they don’t have to be loons to entertain those doubts. Question authority, remember? Even God allows that, as long as it is sincere and not truly dishonest. So, if you're really a fan of the Gipper, and I have no reason to doubt you are, why can you not follow his rule and speak no evil of your fellow conservatives? It really would be better for all of us. Half the energy behind this movement is the desire for vindication. No one likes to be marginalized, especially when they see their cause as just. It is furiously frustrating. That's why so many have swooned over Trump. He's giving them their vindication catharsis. It's a powerful emotion. And unfair marginalization only increases its power. Just sayin' ...

Maybe whoever made the original assertion that the Hospital name changed in 1978 can provide said “detailed history”.

If that assertion is indeed false, than this PARTICUALR line of inquiry is dead, allowing those interested in the truth, to confirm or refute the plethora of other doubtful facts about this story.

The 1844 case of Lynch v. Clarke heard in the first curcuit court of New York found defendant Julia Lynch, who was born in New York city in 1819, to alien parents, to be a "citizen."

This is exactly what the WKA court rulled Mr. Ark to be. A "citizen." Something the recent state of Indiana court found to be a fact.

In both cases, neither was found to be a "natural born Citizen."

In fact, the article in which this information comes from: "The New York Legal Observer" Edited by Samuel Owen, we see mention of Vattel and his authority on citizenship and that "the rule of Vattel, is controlled by the intention with which the father takes up his abode in the foreign country."

Barry's father, Sr. was here on a student visa. A temporary visitor. He had zero intention of making the U.S. his perminant abode (or domocile). He had every intention of going back to Kenya with his American education in an attempt to be a power player in Kenyan economics.

I’m not questioning the existence of “THX”, I’d like to understand its relevance. Why for example is a stamp with a spelling error problematic? Does it fail some chronological requirement of events? Could multiple COLB copies have been released on different dates by clerks using different stamps? I don’t understand the basic argument that involves “THX”.

If it’s a hinge-pin, perhaps it warrants its own thread.

I tried to find more info on whether Toru was still there at the hospital around the time of obama’s birth. I couldn’t find anything.

I did see his address off his letterhead (hard to read) in Lolo’s file if anyone is in Hawaii and knows about that area.

According to their site, the name was changed in 1978, but not to the name on the COLB.

The two hospitals joined in 1978 to become Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children.

I don’t understand this. We were told by Abercrombie, it didn’t exist. Cnn told us that the records were destroyed by fire. Hawaii told us that NO ONE can get their long form. Hawaii also told us it couldn’t be released without permission.

Can’t they all just get their “talking points” straight?

What exactly are you claiming? That they just printed the copy of the original form onto the center of the security paper, or that they cut and pasted bits of text into a modern COLB form? Either way, why are you so sure that you know what process was used to create the document?

If I read the letter correctly. Ohomo writes a letter to Perkins and Coie. They present a letter supposedly from the White House, no seal.

And BINGO Hawaii releases two copies! Just like that? With all the people that have tried every trick in the book to get a copy? This goes down in two working days?

There's been so much misdirection about "birthers", whose salient issue was purportedly questioning whether Barry was born in the US, which one sees amply reflected by the trolls here on this thread, that I have to believe this is a long-considered and -planned path for Barry to take.

Those who question Barry's lineage have never--except in the media's collective mind--been so simplistic as to be finished with their concern once they might learn that Barry had the document(s) to show he was born in Hawaii, but rather, that there was a myriad of ways that showed Barry is not a natural born citizen. To wit, neither of Barry's parents qualified to give him NBC status. On the contrary, so long as it was documented that BHO Sr. was his dad, the proof is incontrovertibly documented that Barry is not a NBC and that side of the argument deserves full exposition....Donald?
