Madison A state law to sharply curb union bargaining by public employees is not in effect, a Dane County judge ruled Thursday, continuing the turmoil over a measure that sparked massive protests and prompted Democrats to boycott the Senate for three weeks.
Gov. Scott Walker's administration said it would comply and discontinue the implementation of the law.

And again we have spinless GOP with not set of brass ones...
Time for the house to remove the judge.
The question that is not being asked, is “On what basis is this law in violation of either state or federal law?”
One would THINK that the GOP would be smart enough to run the bill through a set of legal authorities before voting on it. One would like to think that some measure of legal review took place, before the vote.
Sumi and I’ll suutu.
This is stupid. Judges cannot order legislators not to enact laws.
Scott Walker WILL get this state’s budget back in line. Time for thousands and thousands of layoff notices to go out. Mucho pronto.
Already in Breaking
Let’s not be too quick to judge, so to speak.
This is a VERY narrowly divided state, where there is a key Supreme Court election next week. The libs/unions have been throwing everything behind unseating Justice Prosser, who is a solid conservative. If they succeed, it’ll be game over as the Supreme Court will have a liberal majority.
That is what is really in play here, and Gov. Walker and the Republicans in the legislature are smart not to do anything rash that could spike the election. He knows he will win in the end, preferably by having a higher court smack Judge Sumi down but if not in the Senate. But there are other issues at stake right now than just proving manhood.
Good grief. Walker has played a strong hand all along and you accuse him of not having a "set of brass ones" over this one report? He has deftly managed this all along and I have no doubt that he will continue to do so.
How long is the “temporary” restraining order to remain “temporary?” And who defines it? And can I go to the bathroom now, Herr Sumi?
Now reality resembles Sponge Bob. Patrick has a paper crown and a paper plackard saying “KING”. So now he gets whatever he wants. The judge says the laws of the state of Wisconsin are not in effect, so they aren’t. He’s king, and he gets whatever he wants.

Detecting a pattern here lol

Investigate! How much did the ruling cost?
Walker didn't get this far by being spineless and timing really does matter.
There is a sizable swath of the electorate who just doesn't like political combat and they will readily throw their votes away to whomever seems the most reasonable at the moment, according to how they feel.
Gerald Ford ensured a GOP bloodbath in the 1974 mid-terms by pardoning Nixon just before the election. There is no reason it couldn't have waited until December.
What gives this judge the power to rule a law is not in “effect”?
