[Madison, WI] As tens of thousands of public employees skipped work this week to attend protest rallies outside the Wisconsin State Capitol, many wondered if they would face any disciplinary action for unexcused absences.
On Saturday, a group of men and women in lab coats purporting to be doctors were handing out medical excuse notes, without examining the ‘patients.’
“I asked this doctor what he was doing and he told me they were handing out excuses to people who were feeling sick due to emotional, mental or financial distress,” said Christian Hartsock. “They never performed an exam–he asked me how I was feeling today and I said I’m from California and I’m not used to the cold, so he handed me a note.”
Another woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said they were handing out excuses like they were leaflets.
“I asked if they were handing out doctors’ excuses and a guy said yes and asked me if I needed one,” she said. “When I told them I needed one for February 16 and 17th, he wondered if I wanted to come back here for the protests next week.”
What happened next?
“I said, ‘sure,’ and I received a doctor’s note for the 16th through the 25th of February, without a medical exam.”

Based on an examination of the signature and medical license number provided, one of the men handing out these notes was purporting to be James H Shropshire MD, a Clinical Associate Professor at the University Wisconsin Madison.
At this time, MacIver News Service is attempting to contact Dr. Shropshire to see if indeed he was the one handing out the notes on the Capitol Square.
Fraudulent medical leave? Fire everyone who files it.The tax payers are bilked by this, AND OUT IN PUBLIC WITH DEFIANCE

Doctors from numerous hospitals set up a station near the Capitol to provide notes covering public employees’ absences. Family physician Lou Sanner, 59, of Madison, said he had given out hundreds of notes. Many of the people he spoke with seemed to be suffering from stress, he said.
“What employers have a right to know is if the patient was assessed by a duly licensed physician about time off of work,” Sanner said. “Employers don’t have a right to know the nature of that conversation or the nature of that illness. So it’s as valid as every other work note that I’ve written for the last 30 years.”

There is no longer law, unless Obama says so.We are in fact NOW in a situation of rank lawlessness. The only thing preventinig disorder is the fact that the American people are used to doing things with order.
Wait until the coming Union riots are augmented with racial/ethnic riots.We just do not have enough law enforcement, or national guard at the state level to cope. At that point we will be attacked by terrorists using WMD. Thats the plan Obama and his fascists have.
Then it will be every man for himself and his own family.

This is beyond the realm of professionalism on behalf of the Teachers and the Doctors.
I would like to see how they would react to their peers doing this to them and theirs in the E.R, the O.R. the I.C.U. and the classrooms. Shame on all of them for behaving like hippies and forgetting their oaths.
Children learn what they live. Not what you teach.

you got it no fair enforcement of laws but special treatment to some people = lawlessness and dictatorship. it starts with immigration, corruption, voter fraud, buying off Congress and goes down to street level. Can anyone imagine 20 years ago someone running for President who didn’t prove their eligibility beyond a reasonable doubt?
Now its left vs right and the left wants to only enforce some laws. They are soon to find out its the right that pays the bills and when they decide they have had enough and stop working and paying taxes, who is going to pick up the slack?
The US has no right morally or otherwise to tell other countires how to act until they completely clean house here.

If they bill Medicare/insurance companies for these non-exams that’s fraud.
