Wow, I think Newt is the smartest guy in the room. His book on healthcare and the new one Saving America or How to save America are right on the money. If we all had to wear our mistakes on our sleeves no one would ever pass the litmus test for President. If any Republican, no ait, if any conservative wins the White House they would be fools not to appoint him to a cabinet position. He is an ideas kinda guy. I am suprised to see such venom for FR on this guy. He led the last congress that was worth a shit for a decade. Nobody says he is perfect. I love Sarah Palin and I would vote for her in a minute but I do not discount Newt because he cheated on his wife while she was dying of cancer. I didn’t walk in his shoes and I don’t feel like I have the right to pass judgement on the guy. All I know is he is one smart cookie. Oh yeah, and anyone who thinks a Newt vs. Palin debate is won by Sarah is dub as a box of hammers.

Newt used to be one of my best heroes. He is one of the smartest idea guys around. He has significant enough personal baggage that I do not support him for a leadership role, such as POTUS.
As far as judging Newt goes, I am NOT judging whether or not he deserves to get into Heaven. I am rightfully judging whether or not he gets my vote for POTUS should he run.
Don't be so sanctimonious. You don't necessarily deserve respect for the position you take. You simply take your positions and see how the community responds.

Since it doesn't look like Rudy is going to throw his hat in the ring for 2012, I think Sean is going to have to fawn all over fellow New Yorker Donald Trump. Gingrinch may be a "great American" and Sean's "good buddy", but I think Hannity is going to go ga-ga over the Donald.
Newty is just fine when it comes to most of the issues. Heck, he agrees with Sarah on "Drill here, drill now". His problem is the buddy-buddy politician stuff. You can't make out on the global warming couch with NanPo and expect her to respect you. She is Ruling Class and Newty is a ruling-class wannabe.
