Yes, Obama’s first political rally for his 2012 reelection campaign was held yesterday in Tuscon. Any one who thinks differently has lost touch with reality.
Thanks for unearthing this disgusting truth. Obama & the Dems have dishonored the dead, injured & the entire Tucson community.
That OFA link is a hoot....I got sucked In and started reading stuff from the 2008 campaign.
Did you know that Zero was very upset about the jobs report from September 2008....when we lost “more than 159,000 jobs” that month due to Bush’s “failed policies....blah, blah, blah...”
Like I said - it’s very funny!
Mrs. Prince of Space
Shame on you
They didn't open with the national anthem or a hymn. Instead, they used "Fanfare for the Common Man" by composer Aaron Copland.
They opened the ceremonies with music at the memorial that has been used to open many Democratic National Conventions.
An interesting choice to say the least. Copland had quite the history himself when it came to Progressivism and Communism.

Aaron Copland (November 14, 1900 December 2, 1990):
In the early 1940s, Copland produced two important works intended as national morale boosters. Fanfare for the Common Man, scored for brass and percussion, was written in 1942 at the request of the conductor Eugene Goossens, conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. It would later be used to open many Democratic National Conventions,.."
"...Deciding not to follow the example of his father, a solid Democrat, Copland never enrolled as a member of any political party, but he espoused a general progressive view and had strong ties with numerous colleagues and friends in the Popular Front, including Odets.[76] Copland supported the Communist Party USA ticket during the 1936 presidential election, at the height of his involvement with The Group Theater[disambiguation needed], and remained a committed opponent of militarism and the Cold War, which he regarded as having been instigated by the United States. He condemned it as, "almost worse for art than the real thing". Throw the artist "into a mood of suspicion, ill-will, and dread that typifies the cold war attitude and he'll create nothing".[77] In keeping with these attitudes, Copland was a strong supporter of the Presidential candidacy of Henry A. Wallace on the Progressive Party ticket. As a result, he was later investigated by the FBI during the Red scare of the 1950s and found himself blacklisted. Copland was included on an FBI list of 151 artists thought to have Communist associations. Joseph McCarthy and Roy Cohn questioned Copland about his lecturing abroad, neglecting completely Copland's works which made a virtue of American values.[78] Outraged by the accusations, many members of the musical community held up Copland's music as a banner of his patriotism. The investigations ceased in 1955 and were closed in 1975. Though taxing of his time, energy and emotional state, Copland's career and international artistic reputation were not seriously affected by the McCarthy probes.[79] In any case, beginning in 1950, Copland, who had been appalled at Stalin's persecution of Shostakovich and other artists, began resigning from participation in leftist groups. He decried the lack of artistic freedom in the Soviet Union, and in his 1954 Norton lecture he asserted that loss of freedom under Soviet Communism deprived artists of "the immemorial right of the artist to be wrong." He began to vote Democratic, first for Stevenson and then for Kennedy..."

It was also the slogan of the The Western Massachusetts Regional Library System.
John Kerry probably stole it.

My fault potlatch
I cannot just “read” the URL of an image on FR or elsewhere
I have to take the webpage (thread) URL to a “SOURCE” toolsite and download it there - then I can take it to I-M to enlarge it, crop it, mod it - then upload it
A bit of a hassle if I am snowed under on threads - or looking for or posting another image -
If there is a chance - I’d like to find that picture / poster on that FR thread and exam it carefully
If it has been Photoshopped - or if the ‘text’ has been added to / over image - I will be able to tell where and when
The huge amount of code and color codes within an image is truly staggering!

The Tax Payor I am sure what a joke

I don’t understand about that. What does it have to do with just saving a graphic? In all my work I’ve never had any ‘dealings’ with that stuff.
I do understand about “getting the url” though. Hope you find it.
OFA is still operating. They have a staff in the WH and a larger staff at DNC HQ.
Great find and it’s a damned shame that bloggers have to do the investigative work that journalists should be doing. Thank God for the Internet!
The GHOULS that refer to themselves as democrats never miss an opportunity to turn a tragedy into a DNC telethon. I'll wager the dolts who vote for these feinds are too thick to realize how sick it is to seek a political opportunity at a memorial for the victims.
Who's bright idea was it to have T-shirts?
