President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama will be in Tucson Wednesday to attend the "Together We Thrive: Tucson and America" event at the McKale Memorial Center on the University of Arizona campus. The event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. MST (8 p.m. EST) with doors opening at 4 p.m. MST (6 p.m. EST).

Here is the real reason why this flim/flam show will fail miserably. The only two people that should be making remarks about this American tragedy is the Governor of Arizona and President of the United States. What the heck is some stupid university head mouthing off for? He has no role in this whatsoever, and the same for Obama’s two lock-steppers. This is going to be a disheartening train wreck rather then a heartfelt memorial to the deceased and injured. But, that is what POTUS Obama is all about, himself and his political goons!!! Shame on Obama and shame on America for allowing this incompetent ego maniac to become the POTUS!!!
Am I the only one here who doesn’t know which victims were native American?
He either “became” schizo recently (people will be normal, then at some point in teens or twenties go bonkers), or he stopped meds or something. I know/ have known several people with schizophrenia, they almost appear to physically change when they are sick.
Take a look at the pictures (Getty images, can not post).
Take a look at the pictures at the link just above. They are putting T-shirts with this image on seats in the 14,000+ seat arena!! Who the H*ll is paying for this?? It's a campaign rally, nothing else!!
It almost sounds like Woodstock. Do these idiots know people died? Do they care? If it were my loved ones, I would be furious.
Having experienced the death of a nine year old (my sister's daughter in an accident) I do not understand how or why a parent would want strangers looking at their grief. It's incomprehensible to me.
I recall the procession from the funeral parlor in town to the church out in the country - people stopping cars and getting out to stand silently as we passed - a family getting ready for a ball game, the kids in their uniforms, standing at attention with their ball caps over their hearts.
That is what brought comfort to my family.
OMG! Tee-shirts?!!! This is nuts!
Sorry, Dinner was too good to risk losing it.
Look for every member of the DNC press to be wearing one during the event. These people just can not help themselves.
Tacky, tacky, tacky!!!
Or maybe she'll get booed like the Reps at the Wellstone Memorial....
They are preparing paper chains for distribution. See the pictures at the link above.
Attend an Obama ‘rally’ and get a free T-shirt....what could go wrong? I would love to know who is paying for this as well and just who owns the T-shirt company that got the ‘gig’.
Pathetic display of political opportunism.
Grotesque. Surreal. And entirely unsurprising.
Nothing is beneath these people. Nothing at all.
If I were the family member of one of the victims I would specifically request the White House NOT to enter his name into the TOTUS, thank you very much.....
True...
I thought it was supposed to be a memorial, not a campaign speech.
This isn’t respectful of the dead and their families at all. I want nothing to do with this.
Imagine if Sarah Palin used a memorial to these people to make a campaign speech.
What does an Attorney General and a Cabinet member have to do with this sort of official observance?
