I was appalled at Liz Trotta and 3 other conservative guest panelist (that I couldn't name) on this afternoons Fox newswatch hosted by Jon Scott all agreed that Palins new reality show, Sarah Palin's Alaska on the Discovery Channel was very unpresidential and it would sink her any chances for the White House.
The topic was that liberal advocacy groups were asking for the Discovery Channel to pull the plug on it. The consevative commentator Liz Trotta then said that she agreed with Karl Rove that this was a bad move for Palin. Trotta then goes on to take a pop shot at Palin saying "everytime this woman opens her mouth that her numbers go down". She then said "the more she speaks that she makes people simply not like her". Jon Scott did not ask Trotta why this was just like yesterday when Megyn Kelly didn't ask Meghan McCain why she thought Palin would be best as a reality star.
My question is why is Fox news who hired Sarah Palin allowing conservative guest freely without explanation to back up their facts to trash her and her message in a public forum? Why are they allowing people to tarnish her reputation as well as her new TV program which they advertize during commercial time? Something smells
Just a suggestion:
a. Never assume that because someone signs up and posts at FR, it makes them a conservative. They may, or may not be one. Remember, Zotting became a favorite FR activity because non-conservatives have always tried to troll/disrupt this forum.
b. Don't assume that because someone doesn't support Gov. Palin, it makes them a RINO who needs to be "shoved aside" or "run over". Sometimes it's because they are just farther to the right, and not convinced that she is the best candidate to act as the next President. A President who will have to vigorously hack and slash at the tentacles of Socialism/Marxism/Communism/Islamic Terror (both internal and external), while keeping enough of the American public supporting the next administration's efforts during very difficult economic times.
From reading a number of your posts, it appears that you have lots of exuberance for Gov. Palin, and heartily support her (sounds like you would like to draft her into running). That's good, but don't let that exuberance get in the way of making/keeping allies you will need in your quest.
Just my 2 cents, no attack on you intended in any way.
I am watching Gov. Palin to try to determine for myself if she is going to get my vote, but at this juncture, it is just too early to tell.
Luckily, there is still time to watch her progress, as well as await her decision to run/not run.
The ones that have threatened to kill her are not kids, these are adults. You think she would worry about some 15 year old kid who threatens her life..its an organized group of people..all associated with Soros and other progressives. Yeah you say get me a violin, if it were YOU dealing with this crap you wouldn’t be saying that. Let’s see how you would handle it, if you could handle it better, then all power to you
Uh. Rove doesn’t come across as Presidential himself, although he may well fancy himself as such.
re: Haley’s accent......Carter was elected, wasn’t he? And LBJ ? I’ll bet you could sweep the south from Arizona to Florida, except for New Mex. I think Haley’s accent reeks of good ol’ downhome common sense, and I’m not from the south.
All I’ve seen is polls showing her over 50% negative lately. People bash the polls, but.. I don’t see ANY evidence that she’s gained any popularity lately. All I’ve seen is the opposite.
Do you have anything showing that her popularity is on the upswing?
I’ve pointed out the bad political moves over and over. Quitting and doing horrible on a few early interviews. Also, she’s blowing it AS WE SPEAK with more media circus.
Again, the only poll I’ve seen lately is her negatives being over 50% and rising. If that’s not the case, please cite.
No first the lying elitists, lying RINOs, and their minions have to shut up. Then we the people will make our decision known when the time comes. But I assure you, if they don’t shut their mouths, if they keep trashing her, a core of truly conservative supporters will form around her and nothing they come up with will deter them from voting for her. No other candidate will have the “gravitas” to build enough support to counter her.
If some trick or change in the GOP rules allows someone else to be given the nomination for president, that person will be defeated before they even get started because none of her supporters will vote for them. There aren’t enough elitists and RINOs in this country to elect anyone.

I’ve gotten death threats. More than once, by adults that knew how to get to me. Does that make me a hero?
What other women can’t run for president according to these creeps? Give us a list you creeps so we know who you will let us vote for. Tell us you spinless freaks on Fox who can we support for Prsident.
We don't worship Sarah. We're not saying she's perfect. We see in Sarah probably the only Republican who is being a leader by standing up to the Democrats and championing conservatism. This is why we enthusiastically support her, and we are not going to vote for another establishment hack RINO again.

Just because I want to see someone else other than Sarah running and I disagree with your choice in life does not make me wrong nor would I ever accuse you of not being a conservative because we disagree....
We just won a pretty big election, I disagree that we are Palin or bust.
I have no problem with rational explanations of why she’s a good potential candidate. I’ve been told on this thread however far different things, and I think you know that. Ridiculous drama and so on.
She wraps herself in drama as well, I’m tired of it.

Well I am sorry, I had no idea..anyone that would make death threats against another human being is disgraceful, of course it doesn’t make you a hero. I applaud you for being able to handle it. No one is calling Sarah Palin a hero, I just admire the fact that she has taken all of this crap that is spewed about her everyday and risen above it. No one here has used to word “Hero” in describing her. You know who uses those kind of words, haters, to piss of supporters, by calling her “Princess” or “hero” and the other stuff I have read. It’s not a term of endearment that’s for sure

Sorry but I did see what he said posted right here on this site. I have made up my mind. He should have kept his mouth shut. Then no one would have known. I might have even fallen for his tricks. But now that I know what’s underneath, it’s too late for him.
Well, Sarah is a pretty good litmus test of who is real or who is not. When I hear someone trash her, my opinion of that person drops like a brick.
what I don’t understand is why you would want to appease the media. Would you rather have a RINO candidate ? What are you looking for ? the media will ridicule any true conservative we pick.
None of the polls or a measure of her popularity means jack until she actually declares.
