Vanity: Fox News Panelist Liz Trotta Agrees With Karl Rove: Palin's Alaska Is Unpresidential

Posted on 11/13/2010 12:38:19 PM PST by Retired Intelligence Officer

I was appalled at Liz Trotta and 3 other conservative guest panelist (that I couldn't name) on this afternoons Fox newswatch hosted by Jon Scott all agreed that Palins new reality show, Sarah Palin's Alaska on the Discovery Channel was very unpresidential and it would sink her any chances for the White House.

The topic was that liberal advocacy groups were asking for the Discovery Channel to pull the plug on it. The consevative commentator Liz Trotta then said that she agreed with Karl Rove that this was a bad move for Palin. Trotta then goes on to take a pop shot at Palin saying "everytime this woman opens her mouth that her numbers go down". She then said "the more she speaks that she makes people simply not like her". Jon Scott did not ask Trotta why this was just like yesterday when Megyn Kelly didn't ask Meghan McCain why she thought Palin would be best as a reality star.

My question is why is Fox news who hired Sarah Palin allowing conservative guest freely without explanation to back up their facts to trash her and her message in a public forum? Why are they allowing people to tarnish her reputation as well as her new TV program which they advertize during commercial time? Something smells

Have you noticed something though. Sarah has never mentioned that she’s running for president

Amen! In fact in her promo to the show she even states something to the affect that she'd rather be there, free, than stuck in some stuffy political office----or something along those lines. I think she's doing a great job being a lightening rod, inspiring conservatives.

And good for her or any other person who makes their monies in a capitalistic society using free market priciples. What political position does she currently hold that is ruling anyone or any policy?

I like Rubio now, if he’s qualified as natural born I’d go for him.

"Quitting isn’t an option in politics, no matter the slime thrown at you."

Palin's situation was virtually unprecedented. It wasn't just that she was being bad-mouthed, but that the FOIA requests and petty lawsuits were literally taking all her time and resources, not to mention the state's time and resources.

Does Palin seem like a quitter? Did she go skulking into retirement and obscurity, hitting the bottle? No, she re-emerged as a force in the 2008 election.

Sometimes you need to take a step back in order to move forward again. And it's clear Palin is not quitting, and is not a quitter, but is moving forward. Her critics want to remain forever in 2008, and she's leaving them behind.

Who’s she ruling? and how is she an elite? She don’t look at people. Being successful don’t make one elite ruling class

I said I supported her making big $ on this stuff. She’s a good TV celebrity.

I have to admit, during the last three weeks or so, I’ve been voting for Bristol to stay on “Dancing with the Stars.”
Last Monday, you were allowed to vote five times for the person of your choice to stay on the show, and I voted by telephone five times for Bristol.

The main reason I keep voting for Bristol: to piss off Joy Behar and other moonbats. I know that Bristol’s continued presence on the show annoys the hell out of them.

Again, what about her executive record of policy making as governor? Why can’t you comment on her record?

well. I respect their records. But they are both insiders (esp Barbour). We need an outsider. I don’t think either way has the charisma and draw a crowd like Sarah does.

Haley Barbour could walk into a Wendy’s restuarant in Columbus and nobody would know who he was.

I wasn’t nit picking this show. I was stating a fact.

What you just cited was not what this show is.

This may be an entertaining show.

The ad for the show that runs is awful if you have Presidential aspirations.

She says she is havin’ “flippin” fun and that she would rather do that than be in a stuffy political office.

Now what do you think people take from that?

That is fact too.

I see. So it all boils down to charisma, rather than records.

It's Obamania all over again.

And we see where that got us.

“She don’t look at people”

Please clarify, did you mean she doesn’t look down on people? I agree, she’s fine as far as her general personality goes.

Look, I don’t dislike her. I supported her hardcore in 08. If I don’t put her on a goddess pedastal, it’s not my fault. I think she’s ok, but not worthy to go all in on after the circus and so on she’s involved herself in.

However, Bamster going on Jon Stewart was UNPRESIDENTIAL

Sarah Palin is nowhere near Obama on economic and social issues.

hussein is a global laughing stock that makes Palin look like mother Teresa.

However, he makes almost anyone look good in comparison.

What do you base that on? Her executive record at policy making as governor?

But you also stated that she is also elite ruling class...so who is she ruling or governing or representing?

The more of a cultish pedastal she’s put on, the more I’m sick of it all. The ‘no true scotsman’ falacy is on full display in her case. ‘No conservative can think she’s not Jesus’ stuff. Sickening.
