Vanity: Fox News Panelist Liz Trotta Agrees With Karl Rove: Palin's Alaska Is Unpresidential

Posted on 11/13/2010 12:38:19 PM PST by Retired Intelligence Officer

I was appalled at Liz Trotta and 3 other conservative guest panelist (that I couldn't name) on this afternoons Fox newswatch hosted by Jon Scott all agreed that Palins new reality show, Sarah Palin's Alaska on the Discovery Channel was very unpresidential and it would sink her any chances for the White House.

The topic was that liberal advocacy groups were asking for the Discovery Channel to pull the plug on it. The consevative commentator Liz Trotta then said that she agreed with Karl Rove that this was a bad move for Palin. Trotta then goes on to take a pop shot at Palin saying "everytime this woman opens her mouth that her numbers go down". She then said "the more she speaks that she makes people simply not like her". Jon Scott did not ask Trotta why this was just like yesterday when Megyn Kelly didn't ask Meghan McCain why she thought Palin would be best as a reality star.

My question is why is Fox news who hired Sarah Palin allowing conservative guest freely without explanation to back up their facts to trash her and her message in a public forum? Why are they allowing people to tarnish her reputation as well as her new TV program which they advertize during commercial time? Something smells

Okay you didn’t say she was not qualified so that means she is. What is it about her that makes her qualified? Why do you say she didn’t do much? What are you refering too? As Governor?

As William F. Buckley once said “I would rather be governed by the first 200 names in the Boston phone than the faculty at Harvard”

My point was that she is not a part of the D.C. establishment

So, who is your candidate for 2012 and tell me how they are better than Sarah Palin ?

I would like to see somebody like Haley Barbour or Mitch Daniels. Both of them have been very successful governors in very trying times for their respective states.

For Barbour, on top of his successful time as governor, he was also a very successful chair of the RNC -- he has a deep understanding of politics, which is something that the next president is absolutely going to need.

Daniels has an excellent fiscal record as governor, and also created a successful health care plan. He also served as head of the OMB, and understands the government budget process from the inside -- that, also, is vital for the next president. He also served on the NSC.

Compare their resumes and accomplishments with Palin's .... it's not even close.

It would be nice if conservatives could get real about 2012. The GOP has no candidate because it has too many candidates. We’ll weed through all of them, with no guarantee of “the best” ending up with the nomination. Then, we’ll all vote for the nominee, likely to be another plain vanilla type.

The above strategy is just too easy for D’s to defeat.

Exactly! People love to say that she is unpopular, I wish I was THAT unpopular..Just watch her book tour starting the day after Thanksgiving, its going to be insane! President Clinton has to beg for 1000 people to show up yet Sarah Palin can get over 2500 to show up in the same location. She is VERY popular, which is exactly why the elitist snobby a-holes can’t stand her

Reagan had NBC News out to his ranch before his run. Bush 43 copied this by inviting reporters to crawford.

People nitpicking this nature show are to be deemed unfriendlies.

I like the fact that Sarah is labeled as “polarizing”. It surely has helped with identifying who the progressives are within the GOP and has made them decide if they want to spend the energy keeping their conservative masks on or to fight for their membership of the elite ruling class

I don’t think she’s really done that much in general besides producing low popularity ratings from the independents.

She’s o’donnell on steroids, we need to distance ourselves from these toxic types. Some people try to sound the alarm and are quickly suppressed and when they lose or fail, well.. Some never learn.

She’s a multimillionare TV celebrity. If that’s not the ‘elite ruling class’, what is?

Hell, I do UNpresidential things too...like go on vacations in the wilderness, wash my own car, and many other things.

If I was offered a chance to do a documentary on my state, I'd probably do it in a heartbeat.

But, I'm just a US Citizen, NOT the President; I've not even said that I'm running for President...

But wait....LOL....neither has Sarah Palin.

I guess it's just a Trotta/Rove "preemptive shot".

If the behavior of obama and even clinton (hillary or bill) defines "being presidential", then I don't want either one of them to be near the White House.

ROVE Machine

What puts her above everyone else is that she’s non-corruptible. She’s truly a servant of the people. Look at what she did as AK gov for proof. Firing governor’s chef, selling governor’s jet, reducing own salary, working from home instead of from governor’s mansion to reduce cost, balanced the budget, reduce spending, whistleblower against corruption in her own party (some of which ended up in jail)

Look at Obama, partying and traveling around at taxpayers expense. He really have no shame. He’s living the high life

Could this have anything to do with the fact that Sarah Palin is beautiful and Liz is butt-ugly?
