In primaries this year, Republican voters in Alaska, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Kentucky, Nevada, and Utah, have rejecteden massethe candidates preferred by the National Republican Senatorial Committee, which Rove is said to informally advise. The Conservative Party candidate Tom Tancredoa known enemy of Roveis trouncing the GOP-backed candidate in the race for governor of Colorado.

Jekyll was the mild-mannered one. Hyde was the psycopath.
post of the day!!!
you summarize things so well
This is the central point we conservatives have to remember about Rove. Rove as I understand it was the most important political advisor to Bush. Opportunities squandered (and I had waited 1/2 a lifetime to see a Republican President, Congress and Senate at one time to make changes):
1) Balance the Budget
2) Reduce Government Spending
3) Reform Entitlements
4) Defund the left
5) Protect the borders and reform immigration laws post 9/11
6) Crack down on voter fraud
The first three would have required courage and political capital but would have saved the country; the last three would have been wildly popular except with the far left and the 30% that are led by them and its flabbergasting that they didnt do them.
Rove advised Bush to be the biggest of big governement Republicans, if results (and Roves behavior now) are indications. Rove helped crash the economy and usher in Obama. Worst of all, he helped squash a historic opportunity to show that Republican principles and policies are superior to Democratic principles and policies. We had not had that opportunity since what, Hoover? Eisenhower?
I wonder if Rove is the reason GWB didn’t endorse Pat Toomey.
I disagree with you on Christine O’Donnell. But rather than argue that, I just want to make a simple point.
Supporting her opponent in the primary was Rove’s right, even though Castle was a flaming leftist. At least Rove could argue that Castle had a better chance of winning the general election. I don’t agree, but there can be differences of opinion.
Coming out and viciously attacking O’Donnell AFTER she won the primary is another matter entirely. There is no possible justification for such traitorous behavior. Castle lost. She won. You don’t undermine the winning candidate AFTER she has won the primary—which Rove and many other insiders did— unless you have purely selfish reasons, such as fear that if she wins, maybe she will clean the corrupt RINOs out of the Delaware Republican party. And maybe she won’t consult Carl Rove or ask for his advice.
Too bad. She won. If you don’t like that, then just shut up, Carl. And you shut up, too, Cindy McCain.
I assume that would apply to Freepers viciously attacking RINO winners of primaries?
The double standard here is sick.
Rove & Carville should be viewed as gamblers at the track.
They don’t breed horses, train horses or ride ‘em. They just stand at the rail and yell.
If their horse wins - they take the money and bask in the brilliance of their choice.
If their horse loses - it was not their fault!!!!!!!
Of course, you know with this analogy - who is left to clean the stable;)
It is because of Rove we got Bush...we all believed Rove...it was a lie...Rove didn't get a conservative elected he got a Progressive elected in Conservative clothing.
All Rove has done is help diminish Christine's chances to get elected...it is Rove who has helped a Marxist in DE and ultimately it is the choice of the people of DE on who they want to elect. If they choose a Marxist then so be it...we should adjust the requirements of what is means to be part of the United States...if you vote in a socialist or Marxist representatives then you are on your own.
Marxists and Socialists cannot uphold their oath of office to uphold the US Constitution so there is no way the rest of the country should be on the hook for the decisions of these idiots...let the Socialist enamored states fail.
Agreed. I liked how W started, i.e., finally taking the war to the bad terrorist guys, plus the tax cuts, but it was pretty much all down hill from there, a Big Government light administration.

Let’s roll!
Thanks! Enchante, I’m sure.
You are absolutely right on the point.
Rove did NOT make the arguments against CO’D, with his platform, BEFORE the DE primary. Somehow that kept getting missed by some people.
Rove had all the GOP takeover calculations down pat, but DE Republican primary voters threw him off track. That still does not excuse his disastrous ‘analysis’.
You're amazing.

You wouldn't know a double standard if it walked up and bit you. True Conservatives are for Conservatives and against NWO socialists. That is a "single standard." We trash the RINOs because they've infiltrated our party by lying their way in, and they've taken away our freedom by voting with the socialists when the chips are down.
Get a stinkin' clue.
You lived up to your name with that post. Well said.
LLS
My sentiments exactly. I blame Rove for screwing up Bush’s administration.
Bush followed Laura’s compassionate beliefs which happen to match Karls.
I’m rolling as hard and as fast as I can Pete!

Got rid of Mike Castle.
