A scientist and his wife who used to work at a high-level U.S. energy laboratory were arrested Friday after an FBI sting operation and indicted on charges of conspiring to help develop a nuclear weapon for Venezuela.
After their arrest, the two appeared in federal court in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
They dealt with an FBI undercover agent posing as a Venezuelan agent. The government did not allege that Venezuela or anyone working for it sought U.S. secrets.

Have you seen the math and science test score rankings for U.S. students lately? We're near the bottom of the list. Yet I'd bet we spend more $$ per student than any other country.
“Perps accused are Pedro Leonardo Mascheroni, 75, a naturalized U.S. citizen from Argentina, and Marjorie Roxby Mascheroni, 67, a U.S. citizen.”

As I’ve said over and over, the only immigration problem we have isn’t just illegal aliens. The willy nilly system of granting legality to foreign nationals is a catastrophe.
No kidding. 0bama is bowing but our enemies are probably giggling and clapping while jumping in celebration of all his Change progress cost-savings recovery job-creation peace love and unicorns insanity.
I would guess that percentage wise, there are more foreign nationals than those born to American parents among the traitors.

Lots of them are anchor babies. Or as Terry used to say...’jackpot babies’.
New details released in the arrests of two Roma police officers
[snip]ROMA, TEXAS (AP) — Two South Texas police officers are charged with pot smuggling as part of a federal investigation targeting Mexican drug cartels.
Roma police officers Jose Omar Garcia and his brother, Roel Roberto Garcia, are under indictment for allegedly conspiring to smuggle more than 100 pounds of marijuana since 2006.
Five others were also charged, including the father of the two officers.
Roma police chief Jose Garcia said he had no information on the charges and that the two brothers were on unpaid leave.
Most of them were not naturalized until the early 40s, and two of the most important, Enrico Fermi and Leo Szilard, were not naturalized until well after the Manhattan Project was underway. They were no more or less American than Mr. Mascheroni.
They were Americans because they lived here legally, that makes them Americans, the fact that they became naturalized later only supports my point that they were, indeed, Americans. The original commenter was talking about Germans being the scientist who developed the A-bomb, he/she was implying that we brought Germans over to develop it. This is simply not true, and if you can’t see that, tough sh**. He was mixing his nuclear scientist with the rocket scientist who came here after the war.
That is what I was looking for! Thanks for the info. Dems are building nukes with commies to use on the US.
When it's so easy to google someone...
Gee Bob, thanks for pointing that out.
Clinton sold secrets to China out of Los Alamos, why wouldn’t 0bama sell out to Chavez?
Notice that whenever nefarious activities to undermine US nt’l security surface——invariably it’s some hyphenate who is involved.
Starting w/ the Hyphenate-in-Chief in the WH.
God only knows what he’s doing under cover of the WH-—him and that evil Chi-crew of his.
Figures it would be police officers---our L/E agencies have been infiltrated with these hyphenates.....and so is the military and the US govt.
“invariably its some hyphenate who is involved.”
Have you heard about the missing cult yet?
Authorities search for missing members of cult-like Palmdale group
[snips]Five adults and at least eight children are sought in what a CHP alert describes as a potential suicide plot. A sheriff’s captain points out, however, that documents left behind don’t mention suicide and the group has no history of harming themselves.
Among those missing, the CHP alert said, is Reyna Marisol Chicas, 32, described as the leader of the group.
But as sheriff’s patrol cars and several helicopters were scouring the Antelope Valley for the group, former neighbors of Chicas painted a different picture, describing the Salvadoran immigrant as a simple woman who hadn’t been schooled beyond the fifth grade and could hardly keep a job
Giron said his family was close to the Chicases. They said Chicas often lied about minor things — like her job status -
Giron’s wife, Jisela, attended a few times and said Chicas was always there, her children in tow. The church, she said, was a typical Christian congregation. Sermons were in Spanish....... there was nothing that made the largely Latino congregation stand out.

On the ABomb project, not that many Germans. Mostly Americans, Brits, several key Hungarians, and a key Italian. Most of them were exiles from Hitler’s Europe, of course.
Now there was one Hitler-induced German exile who was at the heart of the program: Klaus Fuchs. The security team missed the fact that he fled Hitler because he was a Commie.
If you ever visit the German state of Baden-Württemburg, there’s a little town in a deep valley south of Stuttgart and east of the Black Forest by the name of Haigerloch, which is worth a visit.
A cliff rises from near the river to a church and former nobleman’s residence at the top. At the base of this cliff is a secluded cave, enlarged during the Middle Ages to make a wine cellar.
This was the scene of the last attempts during the war by the German scientists to make a nuclear reactor. They dug a pit at the rear of the cave to hold several kiloliters of heavy water, and a 2-meter circular lid from which were suspended few dozen chains, each one a ‘necklace’ of small Uranium cubes.
They would lower the assembly into the tank of heavy water and measure the resulting reaction rates. They had not quite achieved criticality by the time the war ended, and they were rounded up by Allied forces. Some sources say that this was as far as they got towards a bomb; they were essentially at the stage the US was at in 1942, but with no resources to proceed further.
One of the reasons that work was relocated from Berlin to Haigerloch was that the scientists could sense Germany’s impending defeat, and they wanted to be as far west as possible when that day came. The reason for this desire is fairly clear.
After the war, the Germans were allowed to develop nuclear energy for electric power, of which they were early adopters. This early postwar work was, IIRC, centered at the University of Karlsruhe, also in southwest Germany. Tübingen, not far from Haigerloch, is the site of a historic University with a Physics faculty that served as a home-away-from home for some of the project scientists.
Today. the cave is a small museum, the “Atomkeller.”
Have they checked La Vegas?....and casino comp programs that keep track of high rollers?

But she's almost a millionaire from riding the US gravy train under multiple identities.
She sent back hundreds of $$thousands to Salvador and has her choice of retirement property there.
