The Mall, Capital Building, White House etc are restricted air space, what you’re hearing are jets flying in/out of Reagan International.
You can stand at the Washington Monument and watch them all day/night long, but they do not cross over The Mall itself. One of the absolutely coolest sites is going to DC on July 4. We’d get a spot near Washington, in between the fireworks you can see jets. Very cool! Flying into National from the South is incredible too, you go right over the Pentagon - I always get chills and I’m not talking Crissy Matthews type chills either :-)
I think they expanded the no-fly zone after 9/11 but not by that much. Fact is, there isn’t a whole lot of room.
People do not realize how small DC is You can easily see Arlington from the Washington Lincoln Monuments - you can walk to the Smithsonian’s, to the White House, to Jefferson’s monument to the USSC easily.
he says the media claims over 500,000 there
Beck is doing an awesome job hosting this. Historic.
As Im watching, what occurs to me is what a shame Obama isnt there.
But how can the most pro-abortion president share the same stage with Dr. Alveda King?
I have not doubt that Congressman Billybob is looking down from heaven above with a big smile on his face.
Why is Drudge not giving this event much signifigance on his page? With a crowd this large, he should have it at the top with some crowd shots?
And let me guess, Hannity and Levin, two guys that I like, won’t mention it either.
You bet.
I just saw on FOX, an update on both rallies. They reported the Beck rally in the "tens of thousands". The reporter at the Sharpton rally said there were, "several thousand, it's hard to estimate these things".
"Don't let anyone tell you that they have the right to take their country back," Avis Jones DeWeever, executive director of the National Council of Negro Women told the crowd at Rev. Al Sharpton's rally. "It's our country too. We will reclaim the dream. It was ours from the beginning." The crowd roared.
A big smile on his face with a tear rolling down his cheeks.
I think we should ask Jim to put up a sticky post to BillyBob’s posts and columns. We’ll never fill his shoes but years from now another group of Freepers can learn from him, as many of us have over the years.
They can try to tear down.
We will build up!
I’m none too sure about the theology or history or some of the reported practices of the Church, but I’ve got to agree: In this part of the country at least, Mormons are on the whole the most upstanding, gracious and positive-action-oriented people in our communities.
I donate to Wounded Warriors every month. Thank you.
Good Idea. I will. I want to get the UA shirts and spread the word. Thank you too.
Like his TV show, this is definitely different than any event I have ever witnessed.
Nothing is “anti” Mormon. Honestly. Get a grip.
Glenn is an incredible man. Called to something we do not know.
Stop attacking FReepers, please.
I think that C-Span has done a great job today.
I just got welcomed home!
