WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama on Friday forcefully endorsed building a mosque near ground zero, saying the country's founding principles demanded no less. "As a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country," Obama said, weighing in for the first time on a controversy that has riven New York and the nation. "That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances," he said. "This is America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable."

Speaking of the constitution....I turned on TV early this morn and some morning show was on. I don’t know what it was but Joe Scarborough was on it. Dang, I thought he was a Republican.
All I heard was the woman saying how brave Obama is to take a stand on this matter cause, as she so delicately phrased it as part of the Ruling Class she obviously is...”there’s so many people out there for which the constitution means nothing...” at which point I changed the channel.
Boom, just like that she condemns the way vast majority and there’s Joe Scarborough bobbing head agreeing.
This is going to really hurt Obama.

not me....it does however represent something else which good men did not die for...the Constitution is all but dying as this attack on out country mounts now daily. How can you fight it when our leadership is on the enemies side?
