NC-13 (Brad Miller), Bill Randall vs Bernie Reeves. I think this district is winnable if this year's going to be as good for us as everyone is claiming, and Randall has the best shot IMO.

I hope Bill wins, he is a good guy, a solid conservative, and a good Christian man.

He’s a millionaire businessman who has pretty much the worst temperament you’d want in a candidate. He came close to assaulting a state Rep. a few weeks back when he found out the Rep. wasn’t going to endorse him, and around the same time he stormed out of a debate when the moderator wouldn’t let him speak out of turn. He’s a terrible public speaker, and, oh yeah, he has a blog where he talks about being an end times prophet. And you can often find him flaming people on local blogs and the newspaper websites in the comments sections. Etc, etc. The best thing Johnson can do is debate D’Annunzio on TV early and often.

IIRC, didn't D'Annunzio claim to be the "Tea Party" candidate, too?

If so, then he's a good example of why the Tea Parties need to start working more closely with other conservative organisations and with the conservatives in the GOP. Without organisation, they are just swinging out there at the mercy of any yahoo who wants to label his or herself the "Tea Party" candidate (e.g. Debra Medina, in TX).

I’m surprised the party hasn’t publicly disowned him like they did with a candidate in the 4th district.

Who, Hutchins? If so, then rightly so! The guy was a nut who, on his website, was making fun of Frank Roche's name, making jokes about BJ Lawson's sexuality (think about Lawson's initials), and was saying that Roche and Lawson were gay lovers.

I think the SOS just has it wrong. Todd Young is the winner in IN-09

Good analysis of NC races. You asked: “Is it a good sign that Kissell and Shuler pulled only 63% and 62% in their primaries, respectively?”

The answer is YES! Kissell is low hanging fruit. Shuler will be tougher to beat but with the right candidate it can be done.

D’Annunzio in North Carolina, one of 2 candidates who made the runoff. See post 110. Guy is bad news.

“I hope Bill wins, he is a good guy, a solid conservative, and a good Christian man.”

He may be Christian, but he’s not good, IMO. Listen, I’m no fan of Bernie Reeves, but when you scratch below Randall’s surface, you won’t like what you see.

I met his former campaign manager last night, and got an earful.

In addition, there’s something that just doesn’t strike me right about him. To my knowledge, he doesn’t own a house in the district; he just rents. He ran for Congress in 2002 in Florida. He ran for NC GOP party chairman and lost to Tom Fetzer. Seems to be a bit of the perennial candidate.

It’s a combination of a number of things that makes me uncomfortable.

I interviewed Bill Randall last year during the race for NCGOP Chairman, and he struck me as being very serious and quite conservative. Don’t know much else about him, as I don’t like in his district, but that’s where I get my positive impression of him from.

I was kind of hoping Mackey would hold on, just so we could pull off a miracle in that district in November! :)

Where we really dodged a bullet was with the defeat of Mackey’s lackey (rhyme unintended!) Antoine Ensley by incumbent Sheriff Chipp Bailey in the Dem primary.

“Is it a good sign that Kissell and Shuler pulled only 63% and 62% in their primaries, respectively?”

They voted against ObamaCare and were challenged from the left.

I'm hoping that that translates into those who voted against Kissell and Shuler staying at home in November.

Well, these days everyone is claiming to be "the" tea party candidate.

I think the whole idea of tea party groups giving out endorsements is problematic, for a whole slew of reasons. One is that people may start creating groups and calling themselves tea parties just to get instant street cred in the GOP, in order for their pre-determined endorsement to have more impact... as I suspect happened with the Asheville Tea Party PAC (or whatever) and their endorsement of Dan Eichenbaum for the 11th district.

He also had the most garish website I’ve ever seen for a candidate.

But hey, at least he didn’t try to assault a state Rep like D’Annunzio did!

What a shame such a dishonest person came out on top! Guess it proves once again that a lot of people take a candidates’ word, rather than research the real person. Brad Miller will rip him to shreds in November, should he win the runoff. Anyone who has 5 campaign managers, 3 treasurers, etc., doesn’t sound much like a leader to me and anyone who is almost $75,000 in debt, after having raised only $32,000 doesn’t appear to be a fiscal conservative either. You cannot trust a person who lies and won’t pay his bills.

NC-13 (Brad Miller), Bill Randall vs Bernie Reeves. I think this district is winnable if this year's going to be as good for us as everyone is claiming, and Randall has the best shot IMO.

Randall doesn't stand a chance against Brad Miller. When Brad brings out all the junk about randall that the republicans refuse to do, he will be ruined and have to move to yet another state and run for yet office.

Randall has embellished his resume, has lived in 3 states in the past 7 or 8 years, voted in FL in 2008 while a resident of NC, didn't bother to vote in WI in 2004, although he registered there in 2003, but voted in 2005 when he decided to run for office. Has had telephones in each state he lived in, yet never one in his name, but various men's names. Doesn't pay his bills, is in debt over $75,000 and has only raised $32,000 as of April 14, 2010 and has been running for 9 1/2 months./

Is on his 5th campaign manager, 3rd treasurer, etc., plus others leave his campaign when they learn the truth about him. He's peddling a book on his FB or website page. Last time he did this before I asked him to stop, he was raising the money to put into his own pocket and a lot of the people buying it thought he was raising money for the campaign. He's now using his position and new "friends" to bring the book back out, to line his pockets, which is EXACTLY why he wants to go to Washington. He doesn't want to be anywhere unless he knows there's a microphone or tv camera there.

Would a good conservative overspend in his campaign by $75,000 while knowing he'd only raised a total of $32,000 in 9 1/2 months...spent that and still owes the $75? His FEC report doesn't show but $48,000 debt but that doesn't include a couple of invoices totaling approximately $24,000.

Would a good Christian man allow his campaign staff to drink moonshine whiskey on church property as he passed back and forth....SEEING it and do nothing about it?

Would a good Christian or a good conservative buy himself clothes from campaign contributions, reimburse himself for them and then report it on his FEC report as MILEAGE, while not paying his other bills?

See another post I wrote giving more detail about him. All can be backed up with facts, figures and witnesses.

Amen branch 15 and not a good Christian either. Christians shouldn't lie and cheat others, nor watch his campaign workers drink moonshine whiskey on church grounds.
