Joe Brown and Allee Bautsch
Allee Bautsch, chief campaign fundraiser for Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, and her boyfriend Joe Brown, were savagely beaten Friday night in New Orleans after leaving a Republican party fundraising dinner by a group of thugs who reportedly targeted the couple because they were wearing Sarah Palin pins.
Bautch's leg was broken and Brown incurred a broken jaw and nose as well as a concussion.
The Hayride reports that a source who visited Bautsch at the hospital the day after the attack says they were told the couple was attacked for wearing Palin buttons:
Two people at the Brennans event have now confirmed that the protest had largely broken up by the time it ended, but we also understand from someone who visited Allee Bautsch in the hospital Saturday morning that she and Brown were followed and attacked expressly because they had Palin pins on (she heard one of the attackers say Lets get them, they have Palin pins on so the attack WAS politically motivated as its victims understood it. It was not a mugging, it was not an argument gone wrong and it was not a bar fight.
The story of a Republican and her boyfriend being viciously attacked for wearing Palin buttons has yet to make national headlines, unlike say, unfounded rumors of nasty words being said by Tea Party protesters.
It’s why I carry all the time. In a city like NOLA, you can walk from a “professional” venue to “the hood” in about 30 seconds. Or “the hood” can amble on over just as fast.
You’re having one now........
Oh, yeah, this is all over the cable news...oh...wait...never mind.
I wonder if the lowlifes were SEIU.
Please listen. That is exactly what they are trying to incite...revolution. That is the only way Obama gets total power. Marshal law...through violent upheaval. Done in every islamic fight, all through Africa....check it out. Also, every communist state.
For now, we need to keep our heads, and fight legally, and without violence.

Look, I completely understand what you’re saying, and I agree. But here’s a cold fact you better get into your head, and fast: Obama sees the tide is turning, and he’s getting desperate. Mark my words, he WILL NOT WAIT FOR VIOLENCE TO ERRUPT BEFORE HE DECLARES MARTIAL LAW! Look what he’s done thus far without any riots taking place! My fear is, people are going to be so worried about being perceived as inciting violence, that we’re going to get our collective A$$ES handed to us by these thugs. SH**, in some ways I’d say they’re already beating us.
Now, with that said, I’ll be attending my Tea Party here in Utah this Thursday. If we notice any trouble makers, we’re not going to react with violence, we’re simply going to shout them down and draw unwanted attention to them! Oh, and we’ll also have our cameras ready to go!
Note to thugs:
This is a fight you will not win!
You think were pi$$ed now...keep pushing us!
Revolutions are born of this stuff!
&&&
Their plan is to provoke violent reactions from us so that Dear Leader can declare martial law. Don’t fall for it.
Here in Denver metro area we have our hoods but we also are having more and more roving gangbangers in the better neighborhoods.
C’mon. You’re hedging with that “arguably.”
You make a claim, then when challenged you couch your response so you have wiggle room.
You clearly don’t believe your original statement, in post 33, “Many would argue (myself included) that any native-born citizen is a natural born citizen,” do you?
Note to thugs:
This is a fight you will not win!
You think were pi$$ed now...keep pushing us!
Revolutions are born of this stuff!

Your point is well taken. I’ll be attending my Tea Party this Thursday, and plan on being alert to any thugs or trouble. Our plan is to shout them down, take pics/video, and draw unwanted attention to them.
Good grief, look what Obama is doing to this country!
That would make at least three today!

An assault in the Quarter
"The Times-Picayune reports that Governor Bobby Jindal's office is downplaying any political side to what, otherwise, seems a bit hard to explain:
Gov. Bobby Jindal's chief campaign fund-raiser is recovering from injuries she suffered in a Friday night altercation with a group of people in the French Quarter, the governor's office said Monday.
Allee Bautsch suffered a broken leg and her boyfriend suffered a concussion and a fractured nose and jaw in the incident, which happened after a fundraising event at Brennan's Restaurant on behalf of the Louisiana Republican Party on Friday evening.
"Jindal spokesman Kyle Plotkin says in a statement: "While there were protestors around at that time, we are not aware of any evidence that the individuals involved in the altercation were protestors."
UPDATE: I've dropped a link to a Louisiana blog that says it was political, as Plotkin tells me that a detail in that item -- that the pair were were supposedly wearing Palin pins -- is false.
ALSO: A note of caution from Michelle Malkin, whose instinct in a similar case during the presidential campaign was proven right."

The person described would meet the Constitutional requirement that the President be a “natural-born citizen.” In all likelihood, however, that person would NOT be eligible to be President, because he would fail to meet the Constitutional requirement that the President has been “fourteen Years a Resident within the United States”
It didn’t stop obama.
I’m not saying a word... ;)
Me either-LOL! I guess we'll just have to take a wait and see attitude on this.
Must have been those gosh dang Jihadi Amish again. < / sarc
YOU ARE NO CONSERVATIVE.
THIS IS NOT A BIRTHER ISSUE BUT AN ISSUE OF WHETHER OR NOT THE U.S. CONSTITUTION MATTERS.
Obviously is doesn’t matter to you, hence you are no Conservative.
Where in the Constitution is the Federal Government even authorized to engage in disaster relief?
These idiots believe that pushing the button continuously will not illicite a response...
It’s coming to a head this week...
Some people are going to be very dissapointed...What a shame...
Your plan sounds good.
BTW, I did not say that; I was responding to a poster who had said it.
