It's been said that the military is always preparing for war. That is true. We prepare for combat every day. We ran 5 miles today to the rifle range and shot nearly 200 rounds a piece at targets and then ran back. However, we also pray for peace. I would love one day to be completely unnecessary. But alas, I am a realist, and I know that day will never come.
The headlines of the last week have reminded me more of glimpsing at the S2 Daily Briefing Sheets while in theater or the Al-Jazeera than the NY Times or the Washington Post. Think about that for a moment, let it sink in.
Before I get into the main premise of this article - I need to make two statements here.
First and foremost , when it comes to the back and forth of who did what to whom and why - I don't give a @!$%#. It doesn't change the action. In life we're judged by our actions, nothing more, nothing less. One of the greatest things of the military is when it comes to an enemy, the politics behind the situation - don't matter in accomplishing that mission. For the military , life is simple in that regard.
Secondly, Regardless of your political ideology, you've earned the right as US Citizens to say your piece - no matter how wrong it may be. That is your right, and I will give my life to protect it.

Thanks, Detective! You may pick up your FR Gold Shield! Kudos!
If he does that, he’s dumber than I thought. He knows they are of very poor quality.
“they have all ended in dictatorship, and reign of terror.”
Robespierre comes to mind. We’ve got a few of that type on this forum.
LOL
If say, Texas seceded from the Union now, do you really think there would be Bosnia II inside of Texas? It would be a new country under the same management, the Gov becomes Pres, No blood shed internally, maybe from the outside, that's different.
Your whole premise that we would behave like Bosnians is really insulting in some ways.....
The states are designed to operate as independent countries. Your premise that if the fedgov disappeared chaos reigns plays right into the statist's playbook.
I’m not talking about Texas. Imagine the mixed red/blue counties and even neighborhoods between Richmond and Boston. Think that won’t go Bosnia? Think again.

Your basic premise is just plain wrong. Why would anyone revolt if they have the same rights under the State(now turned country) as the had under the old fed gov republic.. Your premise doesn't even make sense? You have a great misunderstanding of a republic. Where do you come from? Texas?
If I thought like you and was under the illusion that it is impossible to live with out the FED GOV, well I would just jump.. You are a very depressing person.
But I think Central_va is correct, I just do not see a Bosnia happening here. I also do not understand where all this talk of CW2 is coming from, WTF, we have 2010 and 2012 to set things right. Now if the Rats try something funny like no elections or rigged elections well that would change things, but I still couldn't see a CW2. I could see a battle between all of the states and the federal government and the feds would lose in short order since the military would side with all of the states. A far more likely scenario is a conservative takeover of government in 2010 and 2012 fueling a left wing guerrilla uprising.
Moreover, a state declaring sovereignty would give MORE political power to all people of that state, left and right. There is even less reason for internal strife. The threat would come from outside.
Read “Seasons In Hell” about Bosnia. One thing you hear over and over is the shock of people who truly believed to their core “it couldn’t happen here.” Remember, this was only a few years after Sarajevo hosted the Olympics! Bosnians thought themselves to be very cosmopolitan and “beyond” that kind of strife potential. They were wrong.
And their different ethnic/religious enclaves embedded within each other and all tangled like noodles made the creation of front lines a very horribly bloody mess.
Look at that red-blue county map and ponder the bitter political divisions locked in between Richmond and Boston.
Now imagine a total financial crisis ala Argentina 2001. Dollar collapse, banks closed, no ATMs, supermarkets or gas stations for months.
Think they’ll all be smiling and singing Kumbaya, neighborhood by neighborhood, hungry cold and in the dark from Richmond to Boston?
I don’t.
It might work in Texas. It’s hopeless between Richmond to Boston to Chicago. Hopeless. Who would secede from who?
Bosnia X 100.
“I wish the Sgt the worst of luck that im thinking is coming his way.”
Maybe he helped himself here, after all the fascist in chief now knows of a guy who has the ‘heart’ to do certain things...
Blue helmets make clear targets ,( I = We ) want stand idly by and have foreign troops occupying American soil.
LOL
“My family and myself were threatened, if for no other reason than because my opinions differed from someone elses.”
Right there sgt C is delusional. He wrote one HELL of a threatening article steeped in a frighteningly adolescent attitude.
You have a total misunderstanding of America and her character, I don't doubt you knowledge of Bosnia though. You need to understand what a republic is before casting assumptions.
