It's been said that the military is always preparing for war. That is true. We prepare for combat every day. We ran 5 miles today to the rifle range and shot nearly 200 rounds a piece at targets and then ran back. However, we also pray for peace. I would love one day to be completely unnecessary. But alas, I am a realist, and I know that day will never come.
The headlines of the last week have reminded me more of glimpsing at the S2 Daily Briefing Sheets while in theater or the Al-Jazeera than the NY Times or the Washington Post. Think about that for a moment, let it sink in.
Before I get into the main premise of this article - I need to make two statements here.
First and foremost , when it comes to the back and forth of who did what to whom and why - I don't give a @!$%#. It doesn't change the action. In life we're judged by our actions, nothing more, nothing less. One of the greatest things of the military is when it comes to an enemy, the politics behind the situation - don't matter in accomplishing that mission. For the military , life is simple in that regard.
Secondly, Regardless of your political ideology, you've earned the right as US Citizens to say your piece - no matter how wrong it may be. That is your right, and I will give my life to protect it.

Exactly so. I had a discussion about a year ago with an acquaintance who had served for about 12 years as a Marine in armor. He got out as a staff sergeant the previous year. We talked about life in the military and whether the troops would follow orders or their conscience. We both came to the same conclusion that I stated in my last post.
Your unit is your family. It is very clannish. All else flows from that.
When the voice of the majority of Liberty loving Americans is silenced or ignored, or repeated civil attempts to stop the take over of an unwanted form of government are denied, it sometimes takes drastic measures to win it back.
Those of us who have served or are currently serving, understand fully what it means to give their life for their country.
“Country” means Freedom, Liberty, Justice, National Security and place to live our lives without threat. That threat can also come in the form of a government or Legislature that no longer represents us. Or that imposes laws, taxes, regulations and restrictions on us that we do not want or agree with.
When a government deteriorates into a corrupt and immoral Empire, it is no longer worth protecting. Our only recourse is to rebel against it and defeat it. Then rebuild it again in our own measure.
We have done it before, we can do it again!

Wow big fella. Nobody here is advocating war. Secession maybe, but war, not so much. You might want to back off the caffeine.....
Do you still have any of those posts? because I want to know what the point of writing this is. Is it supposed to dishearten people in some way? I am not sure of what the reason for writing this would be.
Yes, the military WILL obey orders and they take them directly from the CIC/POTUS. What some consider a “marxist government” others will consider the duly elected representatives of the people - however marxist/socialist its policies may be. The only thing that might cause some to desert is wholesale slaughter of innocents, but certainly not gorilla warfare with insurgent revolutionaries - even those who think they are defending the consitution.
But then what did they hope to achieve? To dishearten us in some way? Or was it written to make Libs think that the military wouldn’t hurt them? I don’t get what the point of writing it would be.

Congress and the President just compelled every citizen to buy a product. Which side of the Constitution is that on?
They would love us "Hayseeds" to leave. Then they could form their Utopia on earth, unhindered. War? naw. They want us to go.
Think about it.......They will be facing and killing regular people who they meet on the street, at movie theaters, ball games and who they have grown up with. This will not be some faceless enemy who has attacked our country or speaks a foreign language.
No, these “soldiers” will be the attackers and the enemy of their own country and people, ordered by their commanders to kill their friends, family and countrymen. In the name of a clearly rogue government.
