...To those calling for a civil war, this Marine wants you to stop, and think...

It's been said that the military is always preparing for war. That is true. We prepare for combat every day. We ran 5 miles today to the rifle range and shot nearly 200 rounds a piece at targets and then ran back. However, we also pray for peace. I would love one day to be completely unnecessary. But alas, I am a realist, and I know that day will never come.

The headlines of the last week have reminded me more of glimpsing at the S2 Daily Briefing Sheets while in theater or the Al-Jazeera than the NY Times or the Washington Post. Think about that for a moment, let it sink in.

Before I get into the main premise of this article - I need to make two statements here.

First and foremost , when it comes to the back and forth of who did what to whom and why - I don't give a @!$%#. It doesn't change the action. In life we're judged by our actions, nothing more, nothing less. One of the greatest things of the military is when it comes to an enemy, the politics behind the situation - don't matter in accomplishing that mission. For the military , life is simple in that regard.

Secondly, Regardless of your political ideology, you've earned the right as US Citizens to say your piece - no matter how wrong it may be. That is your right, and I will give my life to protect it.

if this marine is so concerned about the constitution, what is his what is his reaction to what goes on in the congress and more importantly, what is his remedy. If the time comes in this country when the citizens decide to stand up for their liberty, the marine can decide what side he is on.

I agree with his conclusions .. because the left is good at goading people into over-reacting to the left’s skulduggery.

I’ve said for a long time that Obama’s careless regard for our security is a harbinger of an attack to come. A worse attack than 9/11.

Since I’m convinced (and have been from the beginning) that Obama has only one goal - to destroy America - he’s going to do whatever it takes to make that happen. That said, I am curious if that task will include allowing an attack upon the USA - in order to order “martial law”. This fact is very scary to me .. because I truly believe a rebellion would break out and many many more people would die as a result.

And while I’m at it .. I believe Bush was lied to and goaded into the TARP (on purpose) - as a way for Obama to say - it’s all Bush’s fault. The destruction of America was never in Bush’s heart.

If a person wants their state to secede from the USA, that is not the same thing as asking for war. Actually it is the opposite. The act of secession is war neutral, the re-action to it may or may not cause war/violence, but secession by itself does not. I may want my state to get out of the USA peacefully. but if the Feds start something what are we supposed to do?

This story is a red herring.

My point is that people don't need to be as afraid as they are, in ANY event.

This piece was probably written by some seventeen year-old Nancy-boy who lives in his mother’s basement.

Not really a jarhead, just keeps his brain in a jar by the door.

All this civil war talk makes me wonder if the liberals or us conservatives have ever stopped to think what the country could be like had the Federal Government not become so powerful, and the States had the rights they were given under the constitution?

Each state could be a reflection of It’s electorate and could live by their wishes instead of all encompassing laws imposed by a central federal government. All the libs could congregate together and have their big love fest and leave us conservatives alone.

I think this whole mess is really a reflection of the result of a Federal Bureaucracy gone wild.

I also suspect the so called “marine” may not be a marine at all but just someone wanting to incite trouble. Does not sound very marine like to me.

Almost any Leftwingtard would be happy to fire on civilians. None of them can be trusted with anything.

I am a 63 year old woman. I remember reading about Kosovo where the men and boys were dragged out on the streets and shot in the back of the head. Or...What about Rwanda? Remember the machetes? Has anyone read about the Jewish resistance in the Warsaw ghetto?

Well....This is my line in the sand.

If any Marine attempts to round up my family and put us on cattle cars, or drag the men in my family out into the streets, they will have to get through me first ( a 63 year old lady), and I will take as many of them as I possibly can.

This is nothing more than propaganda, and I’m very skeptical if it was written by an active service member, let alone a United States Marine. If this person is unwilling to identify himself, that’s pretty much all I need to know....

Active duty US Miltary personel are forbidden by the UCMJ from publishing political opinion statements. This is either a faux US Marine blowhard or an active duty idiot.

Secondly, Regardless of your political ideology, you’ve earned the right as US Citizens to say your piece - no matter how wrong it may be. That is your right, and I will give my life to protect it.

But this government of ours is a democracy. We vote for our representatives, and they vote in our interests. Sometimes, the votes don’t go our way. That’s life, better luck next time. Exhaust your legislative options, and then focus on gaining the required votes and/or seats to achieve your desired legislative vote next election time. That’s the way things work.

But the SECOND you start committing acts of violence and vandalism, then you’ve usurped that Constitution. You in a way have assaulted it. And then you and I (I being every servicemember who has sworn to defend said Constitution) will have a MAJOR PROBLEM.

A couple things popped out at me (and I am not a vandal nor have I advocated for civil war):

1. Free Speech is only but one of our rights...this new bill will undermine many of our enumerated rights.

2. We have already lost free speech due to political correctness and hate-crime laws...he is not truly defending our right to free speech “no matter how wrong it is”—btw, imho, only liberals define speech as being right or wrong.....

3. He is implying and assuming that anyone/everyone committing vandalism or acts of violence is calling for civil war....he is likely addressing the supposed attacks on Representatives...he is making strong statements based on what may not be correct assumptions. Btw, where were his articles posted when anarchists demonstrations turn violent? when President Bush was threatened, etc....

4. He refers to our government as a democracy...I thot we are a Republic....or am I wrong.

Pit, you have forgotten about a few incidents, such as the "Bonus Army massacre", and the Kent State (possibly justified).

In the end, however, the Military would bog itself down with internal strife if ever ordered to go to war against the US citizens.

I pray we live in freedom and peace forever.

Two points:

1. Military personnel are supposed to be ostensibly apolitical. If this was written by a Marine (doubtful), he would be subject to disciplinary action.

2. Service members are not bound to carry out UNLAWFUL orders.

The mistake Jeff Davis and Co. made was to allow themselves to be goaded into firing on Ft. Sumter.

I'd say that this " Sgt" is one dumb son of a bitch, a liar, a fraud and a punk MF'er.

The moment you attack the constitution, you're now enemies of that constitution.

What exactly does he think Obama and his Commie minions are doing ?

I think this alleged marine who believes it is all so "simple" needs to consider the possibility that "defending the Constitution" may require him to look more carefully at who he opposes.

I'm sure the marines could do a job on untrained civilians attempting to defend their homes and children. But is that what this guy thinks would be his honorable duty?

They don't call them jarheads for nothing I guess.
