Dear Congress,
Based upon the behavior and the circumstances of Barack Obama's election, it has become increasingly obvious that Barack Obama has loyalties and allegiences to foreign powers and foreign ideologies. Based upon both dishonest public statements and a failure of Obama to produce authentic documentation of his elgibility to hold public office, I pray for relief from this executive branch led by an avowed marxist.

Please read post #50.
It is these institutions that are the capillaries that feed into the rest of the treasonous Marxist system...Yet...It is amazing to me how many conservatives feel that their child's government K-12 school is somehow different. ( What hogs slop!)”

Ok. Obama and the liberal congressmen must go. Totally agreed. However, your constant slamming of conservatives serving in public schools is not only unproductive but also nonfactual.
First of all, you are always describing public schools as “government” schools. It sounds as though you mean by this that they are all “federal government” schools. If I misunderstand, I apologize. Surely, you do realize that public schools are local state and county governed, legislated, and funded.
Does the federal government get involved in public schools? - Unfortunately, yes - through the states taking tax dollars from the feds. This is probably one of the biggest problems with public schools. Once you take the money, you have to dance to the feds tune. This problem can be changed - and, not all states take the federal money.
However, that being said, every state and county school board is responsible for and determines the academic standards for each state. Each state determines the qualifications of teachers, principals, etc. - not the federal government.
When you say, “government schools”, to be consistent you should also say, “government (local) police”, “government firemen”. All these are funded by taxpayer dollars so I suppose you would also say that the local police and firemen are also examples of “socialism” - just like you refer to public schools as an example of unconstitutional socialism.
You - (yes - you) the local voter and citizen can and must develop and vote for conservative school board members and state legislators. These are the people who determine the curriculum and the qualifications for students to graduate.
Over and over and over, you keep spewing your broad-brushed stereo-type of all public schools. I'm not denying that public schools have problems - but, these problems are fixable on the local and state level.
Get the federal government out of the education business by voting in conservative senators and house members nationally. Vote in local conservative school board, state legislators, and university regents. This is where the long road to recapturing academic excellence for all of our public schools begins.
It is "amazing to me" how you, wintertime, always, always, speak about all teachers and all schools as all being the same and they are not!! Heaven above, woman! Instead of shooting conservative teachers and administrators in the back, how about encouraging other conservatives to get into teaching and educating in your state's public schools.
It may surprise you to know that the public schools in my state do perform the Pledge of Allegiance every day - we even have a quiet time for prayer every day. We teach our students all the patriotic songs of our nation, we do teach our students about this great country's rich history and heritage - the good that far outweighs the bad. We don't teach Marxism - we do teach personal responsibility. Do we have some stupid, socialist types - of course, but, these people are not the vast majority of teachers (at least in my state).
There are hundreds of thousands of public schools in our nation. It only takes a few stories of bad behavior, even outrageous behavior by some school teachers and administrators to make the headlines. See these national headlines week after week gives the impression that all teachers and schools are like the ones you hear about in the news. This just isn't true.
I venture to guess that the vast majority of the people who post here on freepers were probably educated in public schools - (you too, wintertime??) - so they weren't all bad. But, we have all seen the deterioration of our nation morally, spiritually and socially for the past 50 years. That deterioration also appears in our public schools too (just like it has in every thing).
However, remember it was the Supreme Court of the U.S. that removed public prayers from public schools - not the public schools themselves. It is usually individuals who bring lawsuits against public schools that force them to accommodate this group or that group.
It is the liberals on college campus's, in local,
state, and national government that have moved for more and more intrusion upon the public schools by the federal government. The good news is this can be changed!!
If Massachusetts can vote in a republican in Teddy Kennedy's senate seat - then, surely, even the public schools can be influenced for the better and get the ones that are having problems back on track.
There are bad teachers, bad cops, bad judges, bad politicians, even some bad home-school parents - but, they are not the majority - otherwise, why try to make things better at all. Just give up! That's what you are saying - give up the ground to the enemy.
I say - No way!!
Welcome Rip Van Winkel. I guess you have been asleep since December 2000. The war with the media on Free Republic began then.
But, complacency ruled and Obama is the result.
Once you take the money, you have to dance to the feds tune.
One of these statements is true. One of these statements is not. OK, class, can anyone tell me why these statements don't go together?
This is fine, but most of the biggest problems require a turnover of lefties in the legislative branch.
I don’t think the solution is political...I think its too late.
Plus there aren’t enough conservatives to fight the communists.
The first statment is true, if and only if no federal money is accepted. Even then, the NEA has NATIONAL guidelines, and if they control your school board, you are under their leftist thumb.
The second statement is true.
“Plus there arent enough conservatives to fight the communists.”
There are plenty, but the RNC/GOP won’t promote them.

Actually, both are true. Each state does determine the curriculum and standards for their state - however, the federal government does have an influence on what happens in the classrooms - if the state take the feds money. Unfortunately, most states do receive federal money in some form.
The federal influence in public schools has to do with mandates, such as in No Child Left Behind, each school district is supposed to show improvement in several groupings of students - by race, economic status, disabilities, etc. To document this “improvement” states must mandate testing of all these groups. If states refuse to do the testing, they don’t get the money.
If the states take the money, the schools must spend classroom time on preparing their students to take these tests. So, my point is that while the federal government does not directly say what a state’s standards or curriculum will be - they indirectly influence how time is spent in the classroom on getting the kids ready for these “tests”. This is what I mean by the state’s having to “dance to the feds tune”.
However, even though the feds have influence - the local states and county school boards still have much more direct influence on what is taught and how subjects are taught in their state and local counties. The federal stuff is just one more burden thrown upon classroom teachers. This also contributes greatly to the amount of time teachers must spend filling out government paperwork.
So, the best strategy is to elect more and more conservatives to all state, local, and national positions. To get more and more conservatives involved in education and in the elementary, jr. high, high school, and college level. The department of education needs to be abolished. It serves no purpose other than to provide more obstacles for teachers to do their jobs
Wintertime’s suggestion for conservatives to pool funding to provide scholarships for students to attend conservative schools is not a bad idea, but it will not replace the public schools as a whole.
This is fine, but most of the biggest problems require a turnover of lefties in the legislative branch.

Are you familiar with Stephen Covey? He talks about:
** urgent and important
** not urgent but very important.
**urgent and NOT important
** not urgent and NOT important
Most of the time we waste a lot of time doing things that are urgent and NOT important and not urgent and not important.
Getting the Marxists out of the legislative branch would be an example of VERY URGENT and VERY IMPORTANT!! I **fully** support you in the effort of getting rid of these very dangerous people.
Education falls into the category of NOT urgent but VERY important. This it the category that is most often neglected but if addressed solves most of life’s problems.
Home schooling can pick up a lot of the slack and completely avoid the indoctrination factor.
Understood but it was sort of a rhetorical question to the person I was replying to. Just wondering if he would come to a conclusion like yours.
” Welcome Rip Van Winkel. I guess you have been asleep since December 2000. The war with the media on Free Republic began then.”
Yes bert, but that war is not being won. I suggest that our forces are not focused where they should be. I say this. Forget the Republicans. Forget the Democrats. (For now anyway).
All of our efforts must be focused on the mainstream media. They are liberty’s greatest enemy, and until they are defeated, nothing will change.
They elected Obama. They decide who is “acceptable” as a Republican candidate. They have waged unending vicious and cowardly war on Sarah Palin. They are creating the political atmosphere where our elected representatives are too frightened to raise the important constitutional issue of Obama’s illegitimate occupancy of the White House.
No other enemy can be defeated until we destroy the leftist and progressive propagandists who pose as the mainstream media.
I think you have a good plan....Without a good 2010 election, the country will continue to sink. Obama will tax away our free time to the point that opposition will be futile. Spreading the wealth around means we will be running faster and longer to stay in the same place.
Got’ta go though. One of the new members of our congregation is getting baptized this evening.
re: “The first statment is true, if and only if no federal money is accepted. Even then, the NEA has NATIONAL guidelines, and if they control your school board, you are under their leftist thumb.”
_____________
The NEA is simply a leftist, lobbyist front group for the democrats. They are more interested in squeezing money from teachers and states through union dues and using the money to get democrats elected on every level of government.
The NEA doesn’t set curriculum guidelines or textbook guidelines - their influence is purely political in nature. The same is true for the local teacher’s unions. They lie and scare new teachers right out of college into believing that without the union’s liability insurance protection, they are at great risk in some kind of lawsuit.
This is changing because more and more teachers are opting out of the unions and getting liability insurance from other sources - such as the Christian Educators of America, Inc. The reason they are starting to “opt out” is because most teachers are conservative in their personal lives and they don’t like the political and moral stands the local unions and the NEA take on abortion, homosexuality, and always supporting democrats.
More and more teachers realize that the NEA cares nothing about the students, nor for the teachers. They want to promote their leftist, progressive agenda.
Please read post #50.
The left wing indoctrination in the public schools seemed to start when I was in high school(1969-1972). It is now so evil that it begins in grade school.
