Not to me, plus I have seen other comments wishing him good riddance. It is appointed unto man, once to die, and after this the judgement. May John Murtha be fully rewarded for his life of lies, treachery & deceit.

I’ll just leave it at this:
Murtha’s death is the greatest loss to this nation since the assisation of Hughy P. Long.
To: RoseofTexas
Yes, for his own sake and for his family’s, I hope he knew Jesus as His Lord and Savior.

We’re at war.
He’s the enemy.
I’m glad he’s dead.

The man often did and said things that made me furious, but you’ll hear or see no snarky comments from me today.
RIP, Congressman
Condolences to your family and friends.

Keep in mind the many families of our fallen troops who died for our country. These families had to suffer when Murtha spoke out against the war and trashed the military image. Our heroes did not die in vain for our country regardless of Murtha’s sour position.

I know this may be insensitive, but I bet zero is having to change his shorts since a special election may deliver another Scott Brown.

I, for one, honor him for his military service as a Marine, and for his time in Vietnam, for which he received a Bronze star and two Purple Hearts.
Since he has only died today, I will say nothing more. All of us are a long time dead. There will be plenty of time to be as insulting as one likes in the months and years to come.
Rest in peace, and may God show mercy unto him.

He had some kind of gall, it burst, he died. Pretty simple story. RIP Rep Murtha, may God have mercy on your wayward soul.

It's so sad that he didn't live long enough to publicly state his apologies to the United States Marines involved in the Haditha incident who he slandered, without any substantiated information whatsoever when he called them murderers by accusing them of "killing innocent civilians in cold blood".
It's also unfortunate that he did not live long enough to face the consequences of his outrageous statement in the slander lawsuit filed against him by Lance Cpl. Justin Sharratt.
I won't wish him ill, instead, I will pray that somehow God is in need of a worthless piece of human excrement and will grant him entrance into heaven - if only to be met by all the members of the USMC who have honorably died in defense of this country...................
With Arlen Sphincter's political future in jeopardy, 2010 could turn out to be a good year.........
God Bless America!

However, one less vote to continue causing damage to the country. May he be replaced by a "conservative" Republican.
There fixed it for ya ;-)

I’ll have to refrain on his eulogy.....
His actions in Congress on the overall were reprehensible....
The hell he put our Marines and soldiers through with wild and false allegations were despicable.....
This is the legacy he left behind.....

I’ve noticed that John Murtha is not getting a lot of respect on this thread. This fact confirms my longheld belief that Freepers are very much aware of the realities in life and astute judges of their fellow man.
During his time on earth, John Murtha did much to demean it. The world is a better place without him.
May the world now rest in peace.

Here richly, with ridiculous display,
The Politicians corpse was laid away.
While all of his acquaintance sneered and slanged
I wept: for I had longed to see him hanged.
