February 07, 2010 Palin 'Would Be Willing' to Take On Obama in 2012

By Judson Berger - FOXNews.com Sarah Palin has President Obama in her sights, telling FoxNews.com she "would be willing" to challenge him in the 2012 presidential race. Sarah Palin has President Obama in her sights, telling FoxNews.com she "would be willing" to challenge him in the 2012 presidential race.

The former Alaska governor, in an interview Saturday on the sidelines of the National Tea Party Convention in Nashville, said President Obama's "lack of experience" has held him back his first year in office and that she would put her credentials up against his any day.

"I would be willing to if I believe that it's right for the country," Palin said when asked if she would run for president in 2012. She qualified the statement, adding that she sees "many" other potential candidates who are "in as strong or stronger position than I am to take on the White House and if they're in a better position than I in three years, I'll support them."

But the former GOP vice presidential nominee told "Fox News Sunday": "I won't close the door that perhaps could be open for me in the future."

She delivered the keynote address Saturday at the tea party convention, using it to hammer Obama as soft on terrorism. When convention organizer Judson Phillips mentioned the idea of "President Palin" in a question-and-answer session afterward, audience members leapt to their feet and burst into a chant of "Run, Sarah, Run."

Nor can I remember Reagan resigning from the California governor’s office halfway thru his first term.

Did you read her book? She resigned because she'd become a lightning rod for Statist anger, and had to defend herself and her family from repeated oncoming frivolous investigations; something that caused family hardship. She resigned because it became more and more difficult to do the job of governor. I believe it was the right decision for the time. Now, just when did Reagan go through that type of assault while in office?

Don't get me wrong, I'm a Reagan man through and through. But you're throwing out a straw dog here and it has to be answered.

I would be bubbling with pride to have the Palins as the first family rather than cringing in fear with what we have. Our Country would be a whole lot better off and might even survive the mystery Muslim’s anti-Constitutional antics.

You believe Sarah’s resignation was the right decision for the time, I do not. We disagree. But can we agree taht her resignation is a serious issue, and not straw?

Nope. You're using it as one.

So it sounds like you remember parts of the ‘80s, but not the ‘70s.

Reagan was universally panned as nothing but an extremist, idiot, ignorant actor who misspoke all the time, particularly from when I first became aware of him, which is when he ran against Ford in the primary in ‘76. The vitriol and obsession with Reagan was far, far greater than any that was ever mustered for Quayle. Quayle was supposed to be an affable, stupid but callow rich man’s son, but not evil. (Sort of like early W.) Reagan and Palin on the other hand were large enough threats to get the stupid and evil AND dangerous treatment (which W only earned in his second term).

IT was the BEST political move - in’ fact, brilliant! It’s easy for conservatives to see it. Are you more of a ‘go w/the flow’ and ‘the dictates of man reign’ type?

Realize it was pre-pre-pre-internet, but do you know of any anti-Reagan quotes, links, clips? Interviews wherein the same news-idiot that pitched sweet softballs to the opponent, as Gibson did to Obama, tried to administer a civics/history/polysci exam to Reagan?

Bambi has lost the independents big time, and with him doubling down, he is likely to lose them forever.

This is a winnable race by her. She has two full years to climb in the polls with independents, and I wouldn't bet against her. She's got an impressive record of winning when most thought she didn't have a chance.

“That’s pretty much the opinion of the public back in 1859 about the potential success of the Republican candidate from Illinois. “

Or 1979 about the guy from California.

“Oh you know it all don’t you. I didn’t know that Palin was the Republican messiah. Wish all you want for her too win, but I doubt it.”

Sorry, but this election will ONLY be about Obama. The Republicans could run a horse and win, if the public stays angry at Obama. Heck a male nude model won in MA.

In other words, nice try, but GAME OVER.
