Just back from doing my much anticipated duty, vote for Brown, in northwest Middlesex County of a town with a population around 3,000.

I know one of the poll workers and asked how the turnout is going - she said it's much heavier than usual. And, it's snowing lightly here. No Marcia signs, with about five Brown folks present.

Know well that as I cast my vote, I had all you freedom loving Americans on my mind. My vote was for you all!

The Revolution begins anew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This morning I was in the grocery store after dropping the kids at school (I'm in North Central MA) and overheard two women speaking. General gist was both were typically democrat voters, but both were talking about how they vote for the candidate and not the party and both were hoping Brown wins.

Yesterday there was a guy on a highway bridge overpass with a huge hand-painted Scott Brown sign, standing in the cold wet snow and waving enthusiastically at cars below.

Two local business both have obvious signage in front of their businesses supporting Scott.

I've never seen anything like this in my 40-something years as a life-long MA resident. Apparently the patriotic, revolutionary spirit still lives on in the state where the first American Revolution began.

It’s amazing how much attention this race has attracted. So many people are so invested in this outcome. Come on, Massachusetts! Make me proud of you for once! All the best to Scott Brown and supporters! Make history!

This anecdotal evidence of high turnout could be bad for Brown....but possibly good if Coakley has pissed off enough people.

This is an interesting point that should be taken into consideration:

“If significant, correlated errors in the polling occur, it is most likely to be the result of response bias, owing to the substantially greater enthusiasm of Scott Brown voters, who may be more willing to answer a pollster’s phone call after having been besieged by calls from both campaigns over the past several days. Some of the pollsters’ findings, like a mid-40s approval rating for Obama among ‘likely’ voters, are hard to reconcile with the turnouts in New Jersey or Virginia, with evidence from national polling trends, or with anecdotal reports of potentially very high turnout. A variety of factors, ranging from the increasing use of IVR polls and short sampling periods, to the unusual partisan composition of the Massachusetts electorate (which is plurality independent), to the generally inexperienced polling firms which have surveyed the state, could make these effects more likely.”

Note....this analyst still believes Brown will win.

By the rude bridge that arched the flood,
Their flag to April’s breeze unfurled;
Here once the embattled farmers stood;
And fired the shot heard ‘round the world.

Ted Kennedy was put into office the day after the election. I don’t know if the Dem. party will allow that if Brown wins.

I think 7:00 am to 8:00 pm is pretty standard.
