President Barack Obama and congressional Democratic leaders agreed Tuesday to bypass a conference committee and keep negotiations to reconcile the Senate and House health care reform bills a closed-door affair.
They concluded that the House will work off the Senate's version, amend it and send it back to the Senate for final passage, according to a House leadership aide, speaking on condition of anonymity in order to discuss the private meeting.
Obama held an Oval Office meeting Tuesday evening with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and his No. 2, Sen. Dick Durbin joined in by phone.
Obama himself will take a hands-on role in the final health care talks, convening another meeting with congressional leaders at the White House on Wednesday, the aide said.
The aim is to get a final bill to Obama's desk before the State of the Union policy address sometime in early February.

They did include the “behind closed doors” information - but only in the LAST paragraph - and ONLY in reference to how the Dems and Peloosi especially had reacted (defensively) to “claims” this final part of the process was going behind closed doors!

I thought I had read here on FR the Pelosi reiterated that this has been the most transparent Congress ever!
Ha ha ha ha - guess even WRAL couldn’t stomach publishing THAT lie.
Now is the time to plan to be there. We need 20+ million...AT LEAST!

See right through? They don’t even try to hide what they are doing!
They reported that Brian Lamb was asking Pelosi et al to allow CSPAN cameras to be there when negotiations are under way, and they reported that Obama had promised CSPAN cameras would be there so that the “American people” would know what was going on. I don’t remember if they played the Obama clips.
Wow! Did she really say that?

....With props, plants. Plants in the “union” audience suppose to be so greatly benefited from this faked, forced, duressed “health” bill. And wait for Dodd, Dorgan, and the other retirees to be introduced and saluted for their “fine service to the American people”...accompanied by standing roaring ovations...probably already planned with John McCain, and other RINOS right next to Dodd smiling shaking hands. Get ready for it!
This “Healthcare” fake...nothing but a debt based pension system (based on owed labor like the Federal Reserve), THAT CAN BE LEVERAGED, at any time and anyway they want, at the expense of everyone except Washington and the Eastern Beltway. Guaranteed private labor by the threat of force.

I found references to what you say, but no source for those words. I believe it was a question lobbed at her by a reporter recently. I did find these lies, though.

“I will make it impossible for congressmen or lobbyists to slip pork-barrel projects or corporate welfare into laws when no one is looking because when I am president, meetings where laws are written will be more open to the public. No more secrecy.”

The only thing the MSM will “call out” for is an offer for passes... “ Calling all dems - get your pass here - get your free pass here - calling all dems...”
the greatest BS of all is that “benefits” will commence in 2014.
This is simply a Democratic Tax Bill with a “Healthcare” tag on it to make it harder to argue with...you know ...for the “wimmin and chyldrun” ....no benefits will ever be paid out.
Look at what they’re doing to Medicare in terms of “promised benefits” versus delivered beefits...and this is from the same clowns whose election campaigns collude with the Media to scare old folks that the Republicans will cut your benefits.
And not only that, but the MSM's narrative will cause a huge spike in O's ratings, and will vastly improve the Dem's chances in November, including the possibility that they may increase their margin in the Senate.

I called my US Senators (local) offices:
Cannot get thru (which is very odd) to Sen. Specter’s Pittsburgh office. They are always most responsive and seem to have adequate phone lines. Maybe still on some type of ‘holiday’ staffing? But I will keep trying.
Called (and surprisingly) got thru to Sen. Casey’s office. Politely, yet firmly voiced by displeasure that Health Care discussions are STILL being held behind closed doors and that Sen. Casey, by his lack of public comment, is endorsing this.
I was told ‘the Senator has made no official statement on the negotiations and he is not party of the party leadership’ and I (again, politely yet firmly) stated ‘he is NOT responsible for the interests of the Democratic Party...he is responsible to the taxpayers of Pennsylvania (those that he sold out for the special interests of Nebraska, Louisiana, and Vermont voters). Dead silence. I was told ‘my opinion’ would be passed on to the Senator (yea right!!!). He would NOT take my address/name to send me any follow up (like they would anyway) BUT he did ask for my zip code. Which I gave. So....
They can ‘discount’ public calls, IMO, by NOT taking the actual voter/name address...and just relying on zip codes only. Much easier to say ‘seminar’ callers when the only requirement for verification is a five digit zip code.
And again...my opinion...BUT I WANTED TO GIVE MY ADDRESS!!!

They played that clip on the local AM talk show here in Austin today. A couple of libs called in and said that "All elected officials break campaign promises". You Tube video below.
