Apparently feeling betrayed by the AARP's relentless cheer-leading for ObamaCare, seniors are voting with their feet--and their wallets. More than 150,000 people have canceled their memberships since July.
The group dismisses the losses and claims to be gaining even more members and membership renewals. But as I noted earlier today, only 16% of seniors think they will be better off with ObamaCare. This makes the AARP's posturing and questionable math difficult to believe.
Seniors are flocking by the thousands to a group called the American Seniors Association (ASA). It is a conservative version of the AARP that actually represents seniors, rather than selling them down the river for the right price to illegal government health care takeovers.
The group is on the record blasting ObamaCare as an economy-killing war on doctor-patient choice that will fund abortion and cover illegal immigrants. Click here to learn more about the ASA.

If the AARP has any problems with membership dues, they can get an unlimited bailout from their friends at Stimulus.gov.
At least 10 years ago I recognized AARP’s left leaning and wouldn’t touch them with a 10 foot pole!
I truly hope the seniors in the USA ALL leave AARP. Then they can sling their bull at the homeless, poor and illegal immigrants. See how much $ they make there.
Yeah, the sell-outs will be the only ones that gain anything.

I either destroy or send back their mailing envelopes to let them pay for the wasted mail....
they are destroying their base as they are backing universal health care at the expense of the retired persons they proclaim to be helping...

I left AARP and did it with a very nasty letter. I still am getting mail from them as if nothing has changed. It all goes straight into the garbage. They wont miss a few people like me BUT when the number gets large enough, watch them wake up.
I have never been a member of AARP and finally got my Mom several years ago to let me cancel her membership and I wrote the letter. I joined the conservative group this weekend.

surprise, surprise...when you go to the “contact AARP” link, there’s no place where you can “contact AARP”...only links where they tell you what they think.
big fat hint right there that they’re not interested in me...only in pushing their agenda (just like climategate...just like healthcare ‘reform’).
gov’t of, by, and for the people doesn’t exist for these groups............
I’m 63 and my 91 year old Mom warned me about AARP. Every time I get a mailing I send everything back in their postpaid envelope. My 34 year old son just got a letter congratulating him on his recent birthday and urging him to join. He hasn’t lived at home for nearly 10 years and is married with is own family.
Twas many a year ago the AARP began to bug us to join their organization, but we had already decided we weren’t interested in their attitude. Didn’t seem to us any great loss NOT to belong. So we didn’t.
They still bug us to join to this day, and we enjoy tossing their literature straight into the trash can.
