Clemmons was already sentenced to prison for a term of 45 years when Huckabee signed his clemency proclamation. By the time Clemmons was 18, he already had proved himself to be a violent habitual criminal. Clemmons had been found guilty of and sentenced to prison on five felony convictions on charges of robbery, theft of property and possessing a handgun on school property. These charges are prior to the two convictions acknowledged in Huckabee's Clemency Proclamation.

As more of Clemmons violent background and criminal history is reported, it is clear; those who are charged with protecting the public from violent, repeat offenders failed society at every step. Now 4 officers lay dead and 9 children have lost a parent.

How can a single person involved in releasing Clemmons back into society sleep at night?

According to the Seattle Times, Clemmons had a "long history of trouble in Arkansas":

News accounts out of Arkansas offer a confusing -- and, at times, conflicting -- description of Clemmons' criminal history and prison time.

In 1990, Clemmons, then 18, was sentenced in Arkansas to 60 years in prison for burglary and theft of property, according to a news account in Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. Newspaper stories describe a series of disturbing incidents involving Clemmons while he was being tried in Arkansas on various charges.

During one trial, Clemmons was shackled in leg irons and seated next to a uniformed officer. The presiding judge ordered the extra security because he felt Clemmons had threatened him, court records show......................

One part of this that was troubling to me, is that Huckabee only gave 31 days for the authorities to level an objection to the clemency. This was a fairly heavyweight individual to extend clemency to, in what seems like somewhat of a hurry to me.

The proof is in the pudding too. The guy obviously had serious judgment problems. They resurfaced as soon as he was let out on the streets. That being the case, why wasn’t the convict forced to serve his full terms?

There seems to have been a terrible lack of good judgment and due process here.

In two weeks, AGW and Huckabee both lose their futures. And the world turns.

I said last night Huckabee was lying by omission in his statement. Yes, the parole board in Arkansas voted to grant parole to Clemmons, AFTER Huckabee made the decision to grant clemency in the first place.

In his CYA statement he makes no mention of his decision to release a violent habitual offender back into society. Instead, he places the blame on everyone but himself.

Understand, I am not placing the full blame on Huckabee for this monster. Many others who could have assured Clemmons was put back into prison failed to do their job; now 4 officers are dead.

I am waiting to see if Piece County Judge Thomas J. Felnagle will explain why he changed another judges "NO BAIL" decision and granted a WANTED FELON, who was facing charges of raping a child, bail seven days ago.

Clemmons, who was released from custody in Washington just seven days ago, had been jailed in Pierce County on a pending charge of second-degree rape of a child. Using a bail bondsman, Jail Sucks Bail Bonds, Clemmons posted $150,000 — only $15,000 of which was his own money — and secured his release on the pending rape charge.

Even with a judge granting bail Pierce County Prosecutors could have appealed the judges decision or simply filed extradition paperwork to have Clemmons transfered to Arkansas after his Washington State case was settled. Either of those actions would have kept Clemmons in lockup and 9 children would not be burying a parent.

Huckabee is also claiming here were no objections to the clemency petition. Yet, it is being reported the original sentencing judge and prosecutor did object to Clemmons release. Reuters, AP and I believe the Seattle Examiner had that report as of yesterday.

WHEREAS: Mikey Huckabee is a spineless, feckless, limp-wristed, leftist-appeasing, treasonous, sell-out I will sure as hell NOT be supporting his efforts to scam the American public by passing himself off as anything even resembling a conservative.

While I realize we need to purge the GOP of RINO’s, it should not take a woman being raped and murdered by another of Huckabee’s pardon’s and now the slaughter of 4 officers to get rid of them.

I would hope no person who considers themselves a conservative could support Huckabee after this.
