Apparently there are still some posters on FR who are fast asleep. Wake up! Dammit! We are in the middle of a conservative rebellion! While you were sleeping we, along with millions of other freedom loving grassroots Americans have participated in hundreds of tea parties all across this great land and fully intend to keep it up until all of America is awake. We are fed up and mad as hell! We grassroots Americans are delivering a message to the ruling class: NO MORE!!
No more big government! No more high taxes! No more government bailouts! No more government takeovers! No government healthcare! No more corruption! No more global baloneyism!!
We're sick and tired of liberals and RINOs running roughshod over our God given Liberty!
We want our country back! We want our freedom back! We want it all back!!
No more socialism!!
Cut the taxes! Cut the spending! Cut the government!
Restore the constitutional limits on government! Restore our freedom!!

The GOP lost in NY 23 because they put forward a LIBERAL in the form of Dede Scozzafava.
If the GOP had backed Hoffman instead, the seat would have been retained by the GOP.
You will soon get several hundred, maybe thousand, letters from other angry conservatives detailing how dissatisified with the RNC leadership they are.
McCain was the RNC pick, and his handlers did everything they could to lose the election.
Scozzafava -pro gay marriage, anti-second amendment liberal was also the RNC pick.
They both lost.
Do you remember how the GOP won the majority during the Clinton years?
The GOP rode a platform of pro-Costitution stances, lower taxes, reduced spending, protecting the 2nd amendment, balanced budget.
Remember that?
Tell me, how did Dede Scozzafava fit with that?
Not at all.
She was just as bad as Jim Jeffords, and Arlen Spector.
Worse, she really was a liberal Democrat.
Please, get your heads OUT of your forepoint of contact and start fielding candidates that are worth voting for.
You field a good solid conservative, and he or she will win.
I can guarantee that if you field another liberal scumbag like Scozzafava, conservatives will sit out the election in droves.

The use of quotes should have indicated that the moderate label was intended to be tongue-in-cheek.
That said, your last paragraph is a big reason why we are where we are. Anybody with half a brain knows in a vast majority of elections there are only two candidates who have a chance of winning. If I agree with one 60% of the time and one 0% of the time, why the hell wouldn’t I vote for the guy I agree with more?
