The use of quotes should have indicated that the moderate label was intended to be tongue-in-cheek.

That said, your last paragraph is a big reason why we are where we are. Anybody with half a brain knows in a vast majority of elections there are only two candidates who have a chance of winning. If I agree with one 60% of the time and one 0% of the time, why the hell wouldn’t I vote for the guy I agree with more?

In the hypothetical case you describe - I may choose to vote for neither... I will let a RINO be defeated - or take just let him or her take what chance may bring without my support.

If the candidate in the race does not come very close to my Conservative way of thinking - then TO HELL WITH THAT CANDIDATE...

Choosing the lesser of two evils has brought us to the awful state that we are in... NO MORE RINOS!

Any your comment about the use of quotes — I use quotes the way I wish - not according to some silly rule you or others make... if you don’t like my use of quotes - go suck an egg.

If you elect the candidate you agree with 60% of the time, you're making it impossible in the future to elect the candidate you agree with 90% - 100% of the time.

A vote for a liberal with an (R) next to their name is still a vote for a liberal, and once you help put a liberal with an (R) next to their name in office they are going to make it the #1 priority to make sure they keep on winning elections, and they'll use the threat of a Democrat winning the seat to blackmail you into supporting them in the future.

We have to learn to be a lot more patient and take a much longer view of things.
