Obama climate czar Carol Browner on Wednesday rejected the e-mails that appear to show some British climate scientists trumped up global warming numbers, saying she considers the science settled.
"I'm sticking with the 2,500 scientists. These people have been studying this issue for a very long time and agree this problem is real," said Ms. Browner, who President Obama has tapped as his chief of policy on global warming.
The e-mails were hacked from the Climate Research Unit at the University of Wast Anglia and have come to light over the last week. They appear to show scientists saying they've smoothed over data that doesn't back up their claims of warming, and pondering how to freeze out scientists who disagree with them.
Release of the e-mails has fueled skeptics ahead of next month's major global warming meeting in Copenhagen, which is supposed to set the framework for a new global treaty to restrict greenhouse gas emissions.
The White House said Wednesday that Mr. Obama will personally travel to Copenhagen to commit the U.S. to greenhouse gas reductions.
But the data remains a point of debate, with skeptics pointing to several data sets that show the last few years have actually seen a cooling effect.
Sen. James Inhofe, Oklahoma Republican, has called for an investigation into the e-mails, and says they confirm his long-held suspicion that climate claims are not supported by the actual data.
Ms. Browner, though, said the only people who still doubt global warming is happening and that humans are to blame are "a very small group of people who continue to say this isn't a real problem, that we don't need to do anything."

Tell it to Joe the Plumber...how many years of prison did the gubermint union stooge who illegaly snooped on him get?
...oh yeah,none.

I hope the next administration ('R', hopefully conservative) puts this quote in their back pocket. Use it. The next day, after the press has blown up over it, issue a 'correction' and attribute the quote to Clueless Joe. I would enjoy that.
"[It] takes a great ideal to produce a great crime."
Carol Browner is a True Believer in the "ideal" behind biggest crime ever foisted on humanity.

“Let them eat Cake”, she said.
She received the DEM talking points. Note, all the Crap and Traders will be spinning this line.
Re: Joe Biden’s remark: “We may be wrong, but we believe in what we’re doing.”
Yes, it’s a faith, a religion with these man-made global warming believers. There’s no longer any scientific justification to back up their beliefs, so it’s just a new kind of faith — a religion.
If an environmentalist falls in the forest and no one hears about it or mentions it or acknowledges it, did the environmentalist really fall? This tactic may have worked pre-Rush and pre-FoxNews, but not now. Faking the data and destroying the evidence are hard to defend even by the best liars. All they can do is ignore the story, and by doing so admit the fraud.

She's a lunkhead and a plodder. A socialist functionary. A loyal apparatchik and ultimately a thug who is hired to put a kinder female face on thuggery and oppression.
I don't see much IQ going on here. I don't see an originality, she's saying the same crap she said thirty years ago. That's why she got appointed

In case anyone has forgotten. Ms. Browner’s membership in “Socialist International”, which has now been “scrubbed” so the masses won’t know.
from story:
Until last week, Carol M. Browner, President-elect Barack Obama’s pick as global warming czar, was listed as one of 14 leaders of a socialist group’s Commission for a Sustainable World Society, which calls for “global governance” and says rich countries must shrink their economies to address climate change.
By Thursday, Mrs. Browner’s name and biography had been removed from Socialist International’s Web page, though a photo of her speaking June 30 to the group’s congress in Greece was still available.
Socialist International, an umbrella group for many of the world’s social democratic political parties such as Britain’s Labor Party, says it supports socialism and is harshly critical of U.S. policies.
The group’s Commission for a Sustainable World Society, the organization’s action arm on climate change, says the developed world must reduce consumption and commit to binding and punitive limits on greenhouse gas emissions.
she was also “scrubbed” from Gore’s site.
from story, Washington Times:
Mrs. Browner ran the Environmental Protection Agency under President Clinton. Until she was tapped for the Obama administration, she was on the board of directors for the National Audubon Society, the League of Conservation Voters, the Center for American Progress and former Vice President Al Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection.
Her name has been removed from the Gore organization’s Web site list of directors, and the Audubon Society issued a press release about her departure from that organization.
Sounds to me like she just asked for a FOIA on a list of these 2,500 scientists she is willing to throw on their swords; any takers?
I think the “2,500” number is the number that signed onto the now compromised IPCC report, although only 52 actually worked on the report. And some of the more notable scientists have since jumped ship. I also think the IPCC report was forged around the CRU data. I might have the numbers wrong, but I think that’s the gist of it.
