Looks like the Stupak amendment will be discarded. Can anyone confirm?

Did they just vote no on the Stupak amendment?

Did they just throw that out on a voice vote? Stupak asked for a recorded vote and they refused? Did I blink and miss it?

The D supporting lawyers are too stupid to realize they are next.

BTW we have more law schools now than we have students for law school. Where are they going to find “lawyer jobs”? Answer, unfunded mandates.

(BTW in many areas of law like workers comp and other areas there are already caps. Caps cause volume increases)

They did a voice count and it seemed like the ‘NOs’ had it, but I’m not that familiar with the vote protocol.

Boehner just spoke in favor of the Republican alternatives...Waxman is talking about the times of the opposition...

I think they’re voting on the Republican Substitute Bill - which would expand state “high risk” insurance.

health INSURANCE reform.

It is a lie from Obama.

Looks like they did a head count. I thought they had to do a roll call, but I guess not.

I believe they have postponed the vote until all debates have ended. Then they will vote on amendments in sequence and then final passage of the bill.

Now they’re debating the GOP substitute amendment.

The voice vote thing is always a formality. So long as there is one objection, after the voice vote there must be a recorded vote, i.e., an actual tally.

But I don’t know what happened to the Stupak amendment, didn’t follow closely in the last 10 minutes. It seems that now they’re debating the Republican alternative, but that could just mean that afterward, there will successive votes on Stupak then the Republican alternative.

It failed in the voice vote, Stupak requested a tally, and they just moved on without one.
