Twelve people have been killed and 31 wounded in a shooting spree at a Texas military base by what officials believe was possibly carried out by an Army officer.

The suspected gunman was identified by ABC News as Major Malik Nadal Hasan.

The shooter was killed and two other suspects, who are also soldiers, have been apprehended, Lt. Gen. Robert W. Cone said.

The gunman used two handguns, Cone said. He wasn't sure if the shooter reloaded the weapons during the attack.

Now Shep is interviewing some Colonel who knew Hasan who says the shooter made claims that "Muslims should stand up to their aggressors"--now saying someone made some sort of comment to Hasan about 'ragheads' (Shep actually said that!)--

I still am suspicious that this happened on a day when the huge rally in front of Congress would have been the lead story--now everything is about HolyO's reaction to this 'horrific outburst of violence' (gag me)--STILL waiting for FOX or ANYONE to report that it took the Non-CIC to get around to commenting about this massacre at Fort Hood because he had to give his 'shout outs' to flunkies first!! >:-[

Hassan was also vocal in hoping that Obama would breing toops home...and was upset he hasn’t. Made his views regarding American involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan well known.

A vocal mussie, apparently. Became more agitated over time. A few times in amobilization line he got in auguments with other soldier, name calling etc.

Col Lee wants to know why Hassan was transferred from Walter Reed to Ft. Hood. Very good question, IMO.

Col Lee says Hassan was a loner, not associating much with others. Shep had asked if he had others who shared his views.

Shep asking again about Hassan being called “derogatory namers”. Col Lee says other officers got into name calling because of Hassan’s opinion on Iraq. Lee not really commenting on Shep’s question or isn’t taking the bait.

A fellow psych who knew him said on Fox that he often made comments that muslims should rise up against the aggressors(USA) and he did NOT shy away from showing he was muslim, so not stating a religion on his OFB had to be intentional.
