Twelve people have been killed and 31 wounded in a shooting spree at a Texas military base by what officials believe was possibly carried out by an Army officer.
The suspected gunman was identified by ABC News as Major Malik Nadal Hasan.
The shooter was killed and two other suspects, who are also soldiers, have been apprehended, Lt. Gen. Robert W. Cone said.
The gunman used two handguns, Cone said. He wasn't sure if the shooter reloaded the weapons during the attack.

Last I heard, the prevailing view at DU is that the 9/11 attacks were carried out by GWB, et. al.
investigators are trying to determine if Hasan was his birth name, or if he changed his name and converted to the Islamic faith at some point in his life.

Are we losing our minds? How many of those 43 wounded and dead solders today would still be alive if they were able to shoot back? And to announce to the world that it's ok to penetrate our bases and attack our unarmed solders???

He had access to how many of our soldiers who were suffering from various emotional disturbances; I'm talking about PTSD, as well as the emotional issues resulting from leftist protesters calling them baby killers, the knowledge that their C-I-C does not have their back WRT Afghanistan, Iraq and the greater WOT and Islamic fascism, and other equally distressing issues?
That is also very scary.
With his access to emotionally at-risk soldiers, he could have "turned" a bunch of them to assist him with his dirty deed.
It's good he's dead, I think.

Over at Puffho they are saying that this is what you get when soldiers have to do multiple tours of duty because we are in two wars. Why, oh why do I get the feeling that now Bozo will make a decision not to send any extra troops to Afghanistan?

Apparently it is now easier to carry in colleges in TX than military bases..
maybe they should go back and look at the list of those men who carried up the 9/11 attacks..

1. 1 shooter is dead.
2. The two other soldiers being questioned have been released.
3. Possibly another man being questioned now.
4. 12 dead (including the shooter) and 31 injured.

One of the reports I've seen said that he was a psychiatrist, which would indicate that he's an M.D... which also explains why he was a Major. It could well be that he hasn't even been in the Army very long if he joined up after medical school. I don't think Doctors start out at the bottom of the O-ranks... maybe some military doctor can calibrate me on that.
That is common knowledge.
Wow, ABC just said the shooter was Muslim about 4 times within about 60 seconds! FOX needs to send Shep home.
