Court sets execution date for Washington, DC sniper mastermind
A Virginia judge has ruled that the mastermind behind the 2002 sniper attacks in Washington, DC that left 10 people dead will be executed on November 10. John Allen Muhammad is expected to appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court and ask Governor Timothy M. Kaine for clemency.
Muhammad was sentenced to death for the slaying of Dean Meyers, one of 10 people shot to death during a 2002 rampage that terrorized the Washington, D.C., area.
uhammad and teenage accomplice Lee Boyd Malvo killed six people in Alabama and Louisiana before moving on to Maryland, D.C. and Virginia, where Meyers was shot at a Manassas gas station. Six others were wounded. Malvo, who was born in Jamaica, is serving life in prison for the shooting spree. Last month a federal appeals court rejected Muhammad's argument that prosecutors withheld critical evidence and that Muhammad never should have been allowed to act as his own attorney for a portion of his trial because he was too mentally impaired.

You don't chill reds. They should be served at about 65 degrees.
I always find that a big Cabernet or a nice Syrah goes nice with an execution.
The old rule was "Whites with hangings, reds with electrocutions", but that's fallen by the wayside now. Prosecco makes a nice change, and is especially good with an execution brunch. Filling syringes with wine and putting them at each place setting is a crowd pleaser for a lethal injection party. Be sure to remove the needles!
Not as far as I know. I don't think there's much he could've done as I think she just anonymously reported him as "fitting the profile"... which, curiously enough, he did. If you recall at the time they were looking for a profile of a typical "angry while male", single, military training, with a Bushmaster .223. The profile fit like a glove.
The FBI guys were pretty understanding. Apparently it happens all the time. He was able to pretty quickly show that he was out of town for most of the hits and the FBI guys thanked him, and moved on to other tips.
Thanks for the ‘wines with your executions’ tips!
They should do a two-fer and kill Malvo, too.
I will believe it when I see it.
I don't know why I get the feeling that Malvo was more than just an accomplice to Muhammad.
It is my understanding that once we get to this stage, the appeals process has run its course and the only options left are stays and requests for clemency. Are there [normal] appeals of the case that haven’t been filed or that haven’t been settled by court ruling?
He made the mistake of doing some of his “mischief” on the south side of the MD-VA border.

Nah. I’m pretty sure he’s got a date certain.
You know, reading is fundamental. I'm kind of flabbergasted by the number of people who didn't bother reading the FIRST SENTENCE of the article before commenting. It says:
A Virginia judge has ruled that the mastermind behind the 2002 sniper attacks in Washington, DC that left 10 people dead will be executed on November 10.
I think we found your answer. He will not be alive in 20 years, he will be executed November 10, failing a last minute reprieve.
I’m amazed ...
It has only been 7 years....usually these things drag out to about 20-25 years.
He needs to die by FIRING SQUAD.
.."no virgins for you"
I say we push Muhammad (feces be upon him) off a tall building.... not quite tall enough to kill him instantly, but give him a minute or so to think about it. This way he can know what the 9/11 victims that didn’t want to burn alive felt. I call dibs on shoveling up the mess and burying face down in pig feces.
Let me put it this way: until the deed is done I’m skeptical of our government’s will to apply capital punishment. It’s a cynical observation on my part, but it seems to me that the government’s hesitation to apply harsh sentence is a byproduct of the corruption.
Can you even imagine John Murtha tried for treason, found guilty, and executed?
Malvo and his mother were brought into this country on documents forged by Muhammad. If this country took the problem of illegal immigration seriously, 10 people would not have died at these criminals’ hands to glorify Islam. Every victim of Malvo and Muhammad was murdered because he or she was an infidel. And, Muhammad planned to recruit more ‘impressionable’ young boys to carry out a campaign of murders on our soil. I believe the FBI had Muhammad on their radar long before he actually carried out the DC shootings, he was scheduled to appear before a court and just disappeared and the feds were unable to locate him before he carried out his planned attacks. This is why our porous borders, flawed documentation system and lack of enforcement makes this country vulnerable to Islamic fundamentalists and those they recruit and import onto our soil to do their bidding.
