Aides to President Barack Obama are putting the final touches on a new strategy to help Democrats recover from a brutal August recess by specifying what Obama wants to see in a compromise health care deal and directly confronting other trouble spots, West Wing officials tell POLITICO.
Obama is considering detailing his health-care demands in a major speech as soon as next week, when Congress returns from the August recess. And although House leaders have said their members will demand the inclusion of a public insurance option, Obama has no plans to insist on it himself, the officials said.
“We’re entering a new season,” senior adviser David Axelrod said in a telephone interview. “It’s time to synthesize and harmonize these strands and get this done. We’re confident that we can do that. But obviously it is a different phase. We’re going to approach it in a different way. The president is going to be very active.”

I hope that The Marxist Onada continues pushing his health care insurance agenda. It is DOA, thanks to Palin’s exposing the “death panal” component.
The point is, as long as he keeps pushing for it his poll numbers will keep dropping. Onadacare cannot be rationalized in terms of cost alone. It will be interesting to see if he offers up the same papp about alleged cost savings that he has in the past.
He will institute the public option without legislation. He will do it with regulations and orders and decrees and red tape issuing forth from his health care czar.
He’s going to sneak it in, watch and see.
I distrust anything “official” coming from this administration, anyway.

My state Senator pointed out that while Senate is out of session no official changes will be made, so whatever Obama is claiming is a ruse. It can be put back into the bill the second before it’s voted on as well. They are only doing this to gain public support before they slip it back in.
It’s lucky that the enemy is so enamoured by vast, gargantuan “comprehensive” megabills.
They are the most effective when pushing small and silent, but frequent, initiatives to advance liberalism. When they go for “Comprehensive immigration reform” or “Comprehensive health care reform”, etc. they just can’t hide what they are doing, even with the aid of the media.

No need to fear or worry if he's a closet Marxist. He IS a Marxist. His direct statement to Joe the plumber during the campaign is straight out of Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto. No disguise there.
Everything he has done and said since taking office is Marxist / fascist, and he is surrounding himself in the White House with people who are open Communists.
Is there really any question anymore?
He's backtracking on the public non-option because we've got him on the ropes and he's trying to figure out how to either delay this or sneak it in under a different name.
As a Democrat he can still vote in presidential election but the senate actually requires you to be there...
Either way its a huge victory for the American people. Remember these people crave power over evertyhting. Obama needed to make a choice between p*ssing off his base or the majority of Americans. He may try some sort of incremental approach, but for now (and I may be in the minority), I think the nationalized health care plan is dead. Obama has raised the white flag due to the fact is poll numbers (along with members of his own party) have been tanking at a record pace. If he kept trying to push this “public option” through - his slide in the polls would have continued. He’s a politician at the end of the day and craves power, ie. staying in office (ends justifies the means) over winning one issue.
With the help of the MSM he will probably declare victory
Co-ops are the Trojan horse for the public option which is a Trojan horse for socialized medicine. Now’s the time to step up the battle against co-ops.
Please. It will just be the “public option” under a different name that says the opposite of what it is, like “Free Healthcare Choice for All”.
BEWARE OF THE ROPE-A-DOPE!
Almost a month ago after the Town Hall protests took the Democrats by surprise. Obama put out a trial balloon via his Health Secretary. The result of that Trial Balloon was to get the left wing base fired up. And once the far left wing screamed like banshees, the trial balloon was taken down and then denied. I do think one other reason for the stunt is to mobilize the left base. But 3-4 weeks later their numbers at the Town Halls are still small and those there are mostly paid SEIU and ACORN people bused in.
One of the biggest things the lib base has overlooked is how most intelligent people can see right thru most propaganda. When you have UNION and ACORN people wearing their organization’s hats and/or shirts all holding professionally made signs where most have Obama’s “Seal of Stupidity” Logo and opposite to them are seniors, stay at home moms, average people taking time from their day holding homemade signs.
Back to my point, I think this is a last gasp effort to get the Left Wing mobilized, but they are not there. His polls have tanked so bad that unless he gets a vocal crowd like he had for his election, he’s toast. I don’t think they will materialize. But now Obama will but heads with Pelosi and Reid and that should be interesting to watch.
So Obama can either pull back the trial balloon later today or leave it out there for a day or two to get the progressives fired up.

Maybe so, but you can count on it being in the bill sent to the child messiah after it comes out of conference. This entire thing needs a wooden stake through it’s heart.
That’s right! Never support any bill they try to sell...its a lie. They NEED to pass something (to stay viable) and once they do...I have the fear that they will be able to modify it however they want. Do not back down on this!
Public Option will become Co-op which will run into financial problems which will force a bail-out which becomes public option.
Kill the whole bill
