Daily Presidential Tracking Poll -- 0bama now at -14!
Rasmussen Reports ^ | 23 August 2009 | Scott Rasmussen

Posted on 08/23/2009 6:35:52 AM PDT by ScottinVA

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 27% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -14. These figures mark the lowest Approval Index rating yet recorded for this President. The previous low of -12 was reached on July 30 (see trends).

Prior to today, the number who Strongly Approved of the President’s performance had never fallen below 29%. Some of the decline has come from within the President’s own party. Just 49% of Democrats offer such a positive assessment of the President at this time.

At the other end of the spectrum, today’s total for Strongly Disapprove matches the highest level yet recorded. The 41% mark was reached just once before and that came one week ago today. Seventy percent (70%) of Republicans now Strongly Disapprove along with 49% of those not affiliated with either major party.

Check out our review of last week’s key polls to see “What They Told Us.” Topics include health care, the deficit, stimulus package, state polls and more.

The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates also available on Twitter and Facebook.

Overall, 48% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Fifty-one percent (51%) now disapprove.

There would be a Constitutional crisis if that were pushed, as there would be debate over whether the resolutions passed for specific purpose would open the doo9r to a general Convention. Of course, the Dems would claim they do, regardless of legality.

Congress legislated the ground rules for an Article V Convention in 1992 as part of a general reform of the amendatory process.

Read this for details.

A pstchiatrist friend of mine used to say that anyone wanting to be President had to be a narcissist...but I think President Obama sets new levels. I don't think that's his only disorder, either, but I am not a psych professional.

He's bat sh** crazy. Remember when he said, "When you are in the polling place a light will shine down on you from....from...somewhere(I think he wanted to say heaven but stopped himself in time)and you will have an epiphany and you will hear a voice say vote for Obama!". If that doesn't tell you he is crazy as a sh** house mouse I don't know what would.

You make very good points, especially about when people have nothing to lose.

I believe that if we’re backed into a corner, we’ll have to defend our country and ourselves. OTOH, I doubt the liberal 0ba-mites’ thugs are paid enough to risk a lot.

I just hope that 0b0z0’s agenda is stopped peacefully and that the libs see the danger of trying to subjugate the populace and shove CommuFascism down the throats of their employers, 80% of Americans who don’t agree with them.

To your other points about never knowing who’s capable and who isn’t; I always told kids to respect their elders and never challenge a gray hair because he may whip your a$$, physically. That’s from personal experiences being the gray hair...that was a lot of fun. LOL

Not only that, our so called "MOB" is actually bringing the Socialization of America to a screaming halt ( Health Care) without ANY help from all but a few Republicans , like DeMint and Palin.

And the RINOS can only wring their hands in denial of that success. They live in an "alternate universe."

Wrong Flag?

Nope.

You might want to read Jonah Goldberg’s hall mark , well researched and fully annotated book:
“Liberal Fascism; The Secret history of America’s Left, From Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning.”

http://www.amazon.com/Liberal-Fascism-American-Mussolini-Politics/dp/0385511841

Obama and his mavins only have a veneer of “Communism”. They are an elite that is national socialist in nature.
Goldbergs work is hugely important.

One only has to look at Obamas neo colonial black power work in Kenya in 2006 and 2007 to see that his approach is essentially fascist. The Precursors to the Obama movement were the Nationalsit Socialist movements of Germany and Italy in the 1920s and 1930s.Obamas politics are essentially based on “historical justice,” the same as Missolini and Hitler.Obama is not a proletarian seeking a communist result. He is a fascist seeking absolute power to impose a Utopia of his own making.

Yes, Congress legislated the ground rules.

And what Congress and the Executive give, they can also take away. And would the SCOTUS be involved?

Thanks for the research, Publius, but I don't think it's as benign as you might believe.

While I don't believe GWB was a Fascist, his economic policies were right in line with Mussolini's Corporatist Fascism. TARP was the capstone of that.

I believe that the Obama Administration had started out in line with the Fascist-style economics, but have moved more toward National Socialism, like you indicate, Candor7. Rather than taking over the industry directly and distributing it to "The People," he has nationalized it and has it nominally still run by corporatists.

It's a great system...if you're one of the "élite"--you reap the benefits and dump the costs onto the taxpayer.

He didn’t say “in the polling place”...he was describing what he intended to do in his speech. It was reported that he said that the epiphany would be, “I have to go to the polls and vote for Barack.”

What ever. I didn’t say it was an exact quote. These are the rantings of a crazy SOB. A light shining down on you? Whether it is at the polls or at home this makes him crazy, and it wasn’t just “reported” he said it, it is on tape, I listened to it being played back, it was last year and I had forgotten the exact quote. This is something that can’t be twisted to mean anything other than that Bozo is nuts.

So you are saying that on the basis of his last 6 months in office GWB was a crypto-fascist, and on the basis of his first 6 months in office Hussein is a sudo-National Socialist - even though he hung around Communists (even hired one) and never had any Neo-Nazi friends? This logic escapes me.

Hussein is a viscous opportunist - National Socialism now because to nationalize would be going too far - at this point. I think you might be blinded by the gleaming forest and have missed the dull gray trees.

Goldberg - yethchh to him. Don't much care for any pundits analysis. They all are trying to sell something - usually a book. And their conclusions are fungible, depending on the wind.

Black power in South Africa was pure Communist, from which it spread by other means to Kenya. All true believers know that National Socialist is more acceptable than Communism, and they use that disguise as their foot in the door.

Hussein's politics are based on what can be shoved down too gullible American throats as quickly as possible - in as nice a format as pretty words can create.

Any neo-Nazi knows that the Third Reich ended in flames, while its mortal enemy - Communism - survived and ‘flourished’. Worse from the Neo-Nazi’s point of view is that the Communists killed more of them and reduced most of the Third Reich to brick and mortar.

Now if Hussein had hung around with Neo-Nazis instead of Communists and criminals, then you might have a point. But he did not.

Hussein has never seen him self as a proletarian - neither did Lenin, Stalin, or Mao. They all saw/see themselves as tyrants. The rest is propaganda.

All tyrants and tyrants-in-waiting seek absolute power by any means necessary. The utopia part is for consumption by the inner circles, not the tyrant - who knows better, however much he espouses belief in that utopia; he'd destroy it in a flash, if he thought it would serve his purposes.

Whether Communist or fascist, to the tyrant, they are irrelevant - it is whichever presents the most rapid accretion of power in the time period and place the tyrant rises.

As for the final political form, Communism works better than fascism from the tyrant's POV. Fascism has to be sold as a religion, while Communism can be sold on the basis of individual and national glory.

Hitler basically used the second half of the koran as his thesis in Mien Kamph and attempted to sell that as a religion which German people did not buy - rather they bought him as their Leader. Today's German Nazi wants the return of the Leader, not so much the system or the aborted religion.

In Russia Communism was all about glorifying the individual and through the individual the country - a far easier sell. Today's Russian Communist wants the return of the glory and their national pride by recreating/resurrecting the system; the party leader does not matter, as long as he is strong.

Be it as it may, we both agree that Hussein is a menace seeking absolute power. And as we both know absolute power corrupts absolutely - and that bodes ill for us and this country.
