Its looking more and more like the forged Kenyan birth certificate released by Orly Taitz on Sunday was a prank by a supporter of President Obama. Politijab points to an anonymous blogger at FearlessBlogging, who has uploaded four photos of the original forgery and a mocking declaration:
Fine cotton business paper: $11Inkjet printer: $35
1940 Royal Model KMM manual typewriter: $10
2 Shilling coin: $1
Pilot Varsity fountain pen: $3
Punkin the Birthers: Priceless

I would think a few people identified problems quicker than that. A skeptical statement was made here by post #15.
It was posted here in the middle of the night, and certainly before 11 am there was already talk about the “Republic of Kenya” problem.
I raised similar objections, and I was born Kenyan and spent a good 19 years there since birth until I moved to the US (I recently went back after getting hired by an offshore emerging markets Fund that invests in emerging/frontier markets). The whole BC-Kenya thing was not kosher, and I raised my points ...they were shot down, and the posts removed (idiotic ...shoot down something, but if it is simply factual let it be. I had even gone to the National Archives in Nairobi to get something for another issue, and when I couldn't reported I couldn't, thus I have been very fair. But my posts on the BC issue disappeared).
Anyways, the story finally broke with the Kenyan media, and the whole thing has become a major joke. The Daily Nation (Kenya's leading newspaper) even reported on the issue on Thursday 6th August 2009 (yesterday as of this posting) on page 3 (the entire page, apart from ads), saying that it differs from birth certificates from the time, and even put a copy of the Orly document with an ACTUAL KENYAN BIRTH CERTIFICATE from the period next to it ....NOT EVEN CLOSE! The Website for the Nation newspaper is www.nation.co.ke (I could post the thread, but if FReepers will simply yank it ya'll can go and check it out for yourselves).
Then I saw SwordMaker, a FReeper who ahs been here for some time (particularly on techie related posts, particularly pertaining to Apple and computers), CLEARLY state that he was responsible for the 'two' birth certificates, when he tried to convert the pic to a more accessible JPEG that got lossy, and due to that EF became KF, and the numbers changed. He stated how it happened, and it is something ANYONE can replicate. Yet no one is hearing it. People are too sold out on the Kenyan birth certificate thing, and to be honest I agree with Coulter when she says it is nutty.
Obama is an abomination, and there are so many ways to bring him down that make sense and are legal. Will it be easy ...no, but hard has never stopped people before. As for the certificate, the pressure should be on HIM to prove he is a natural born American ....for HIM to show clear irrefutable evidence that he is eligible to sit on the highest seat in the land. On OBAMA. The pressure should come from us, and it should be strong and consistent.
But when people BLINDLY jump onto what some lawyer in california is saying, based on an IMAGE that she was sent by SOMEONE (?????), and she is trying to prove that the image is accurate ....then we are missing the prize. We need to test and see if it is real, and even if it is not real it doesn't mean that Obama is clear and free. After all, the goal is to make OBAMA PROVE he is American, not to defend Orly (including those who were calling coulter names) as if Orly's truth is the gospel. It is not ....better people have been fooled.
Are the birthers onto something? Maybe ...but even if wrong, Obama needs to prove he is eligible. That is fact.
What if he is eligible (hmmm ...there are true questions about his natural born status that may be very hard for him to clarify, but let's assume he does) ....well, he is still making moves that are, at the very least, border line unconstitutional. He is a person with so many targets in terms of legislation and what-not.
Yet, you see people turning a Kenyan BC that Kenyans born at the time laugh know is not accurate, into something approaching Holy Gospel that is not to be questioned. I am certain the first thing people will do upon reading my post is check when I joined (years ago), and upon that disappointment check my old posts to see if I've said something 'off' (you'll be disappointed again). Trolls should be zotted, but just as important is the need to judge and weigh information we receive, and ensure that it is veritable. Furthermore, we need to ensure that we keep our eye on the prize, in this case ensuring that Mr Obama does not ruin a nation that for a long time has been a bright light shining on a hill, and to do so in a legal constitutionally-valid manner that is above reproach.
Obama is an empty suit who just happens to be a good orator, and as someone once said it is easier to rant against trains being on time than to make trains run on time (or something to that effect). Already he is being shown to be empty. Now is the time to put legal and constitutional pressure on him, rather than blindly support crack-pot theories like some mindless libs (there is nothing wrong being excited about something like the Kenyan BC, but evaluate it, compare it with available BCs, ask how Orly got it and who sent it, and take everything - inluding my post - with a HUGE grain of salt ...rather than just acting as if anyone who says it may be off is some ranting liberal, or any of the names people called Coulter. Admission: I am not a big fan of Ann myself, but the circular firing squads are just ridiculous)
In the Bible it even says one should judge spirits. Anyways, that's all I have to say.
“Has Obama hired retired U.S.S.R. disinformation specialists? I wonder. “
Methinks you are a little too close to the truth there.
“You got to learn that being on F.R. is free, but our words are not always tailored by silk or cotton or sugarcoated. So if you are too soft skinned, this is NOT the place for you. But that is all up to you, FReepers or birthers have their own mindset and you cant change that. The discussions here can be quite heated sometimes. With that said you are welcome to stay. Its all up to you to get the most out our relationship!!!”
It’s not that, it’s that you are extremely hasty to slap an unjustified reproach on me. I stand by what I said, it is 100% correct, and my conscience does not rebuke me. I don’t need you, a total stranger I have had virtually no interaction with, to inform me what I “need to learn”. Your extreme haste to smear me as illiterate without provocation, indeed shows me some things about your mindset - like bloodthirstiness and a lack of love in your upbringing. I always remember the names of those who were douchebags to me for absolutely no reason - it’s like picking out the troublemakers as soon as you enter a room, for future reference. The only vain reward you could possibly be getting from all this behaviour is what my lord has called “yeast”.
“One of the tabloids has a story this week and quotes Techdude and Polarik.”
The story is from a year ago, July 20, 2008 when Pam Geller posted her TechDude *EXCLUSIVE*. I had nothing to do with it. The reference to me claiming that DeCosta’s COLB was the basis for Obama’s COLB was one I made on July 27, but subsequently rejected after I received real 2007 COLB scans in August.
There is one MAJOR problem with this alleged forgery.
There is something over the word “Maiden” in the Mother section of the form the first image. There is also a stain on the paper above the word. On the second image, the “something” isn’t there, but the stain is. Now that’s no big deal, but the revealed word under the “something” isn’t “Maiden”. It’s “Maieen”. Either the forger added this “something” to the document because of his typo, or he photoshopped it out of the document, and didn’t think about copying in the correct letter, or removing the stain. The right serif of the foot of the letter “i” is also missing.
This is just someone who owned the same rug or quilt and figured he could claim responsibility for the document.
LOL!!
How true --
Good point. I can’t say “I knew all along” whether it’s fake or not. I’m no expert in forged documents. With photoshops, I never know what I’m looking at.
But if it is fake, I’d like to know two things.
Why would a forger, after detailed research and effort to create it, and seeing it start to reach the height of public interest; blow his cover after only a few days by saying “you’ve been punk’d”? A very elaborate joke with such a small payoff suggests the clever, meticulous forger is also an idiot prankster.
And why wouldn’t the forger just make it 1961 for simple instant impact?
Fake or not, I think this guy printed out copies and used the same style bedspread.
Appreciate the reasoned response - it is a good one. Here’s what I see that may help Orly in this case (regarding your statements): “First, I believe that there is a difference between a photograph of a document and a document or copy of the document.”
I agree, but I believe Orly claimed to have a paper copy (a photo of the doc). If that is what she put before the court, then what you state would negate any possibility the court could sanction here in regards to trying to pass a document because it is a photo of a supposed doc only. Secondly, the court won’t act either because of this, so it will go nowhere - that is if they follow your logic on this.
I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
“Second, even assuming that it was, I read the statute to require tha the document be in or affect[ing] interstate or foreign commerce. So, if it turns out that Orly purchased the document, and the person mailed, faxed, or emailed it to her, then its in interstate commerce. However, if it showed up slipped under her door in the morning, or if it was simply emailed to her w/o any payment or other commercial act, then I dont think that the action falls under the statute.”
I believe you are correct and I thought of some similar scenarios that would just barely skirt the law quoted as well - but wouldn’t that be conspiracy of some sort? Maybe not I don’t really know.
Thanks. I’ve been a member since 2000.
Actually I think the natural progression is what we are starting to see; ordinary Americans who are getting really really pissed off and are starting to make their otherwise silent voices heard. We're seeing it in the town halls, we're seeing it in the panic of the democrats as they rush to paint anyone who disagrees with them as thugs and brown shirts.
Yep, no doubt a fake.
There are certainly some birthers who cling to misinformation and spread it without reading and/or heeding solid advice not to. OTOH, there are uncertainties and disinformation campaigns on the other side (whether orchestrated or just college pranks) that remind me to be skeptical also of the debunking. I am skeptical of everything. I looked through the Daily Nation website but didn't see anything useful.
Why did the libtards suddenly, all in unison, drop their total disregard for the BC issue, and start pushing the ‘birthers are idiots’ argument IN PUBLIC - everywhere - all at the same time? What scared them out of their holes? What was so important that they did a strategy 180?
Just asking.
