And I should add that CA also had a Republican Administration in 1968. Republicans, for the most part, are good at following rules.

I would pre fer to read some truth, rather than the bizzare attack on the plain meaning of our constitution that you have mounted.

The letters of the framers are the best evidence of the intent of the constitution they wrote; not obscure provisions of the British laws that they sought to correct.

The real issue is why Obama is playing hardball with the data. is he, like Nixon, above the law, or is he, like the rest of us subject to the law? We need to know this and we need to know it now... If Obama is above the law, our persons and property are not safe in this country. Capital (that's money to you liberals) will not find work in a regime that threatens it. The world is a big place and Obama is a petty hack. Watch unemployment continue to soar as capital seeks friendlier shores. 550,000 new unemployed last week and 69,000 increase in folks on the dole...

What a disaster!

Absolutely! It's already extremely difficult to get capital for anything (we own a small business) and credit cards are tightening, tightening.

Rather dangerous on the left’s part. We might already be addressing Sarah Palin as “Madame President” if they had waited until after the election to attack McCain's eligibility. But McCain didn't secure the votes, so it's all academic.

If I had a nickel for every "Impeach Bush" bumper sticker I saw...

I used to pull up beside 'em and complement them on the sticker. Afer I got a 'right on' or a big grin, or some other friendly acknowledgment, "I'd say yeah! I think Cheney would make a GREAT president too!"

To their shocked look I'd say - "Don't you liberals ever foresee even the most obvious consequences of your actions???"

You will have to note that the globalist/internationalist Meese offers nothing more than his own opinion.

The framers of this nation chose Vattel’s Law of Nations as their guide on these matters when preparing the Declaration of Independence, and the constitution. This is clearly shown in their letters. Jus Soli addresses “subjects,” not citizens.

The difference is not small. An English subject could never become a monarch, unlike the U.S. where a Natural Born citizen can become President. Allegiance was the issue that concerned the framers of our constitution.

I think I like April Lexington's idea of putting up some foreign names as candidates and FORCING the issue of vetting candidates for citizenship proof. At least I THINK I like the idea. Perhaps someone can show me the downside.

How about running that gorgeous Mexican movie star who wrote and produced and starred in Bella? He's conservative, pro-life, and would attract a lot of hispanic votes and a lot of attention.

Eduardo Verastigui

We could force him off the ballot for non-citizenship and bring a lot of attention to Bella, The Movie which is something everybody should see. (Sponsors of the movie in 2006 included Jeb and Mrs. Bush, former FL Gov., and Gov. & Mrs. Rick Perry of TX.)

Leahy, in the wording of the Senate resolution, states that McCain was born in the Canal Zone. There is an exhibit on the Net which indicates McCain was born in the hospital in Colon. How would you go about confirming one or the other to be true at this point? ... Someone pointed out to me that McCain’s mother, who is still of sound mind, has been emphatic on where she gave birth, and she states it was in the zone at the Naval hospital!

Nice. Except the base didn't even have a hospital until years after little Johnny was born.

"If it’s not too much trouble, could one of you (or both if so inclined) tell what he is saying that are lies? I’m not asking in a challenging way but just trying to learn."

He makes the following statement that is totally false:

"If Obama was born in Hawaii (or anywhere else in the 50 states), he is natural born and eligible."
Obama is inelligible to be president because he is forever precluded from being a 'Natural Born' citizen under the constitution due to his father's British citizenship. It is the very exact situation that the framers sought to prevent. Go to Post 5343 for an excellant discussion of 'Natural Born's' meaning. Obama's behavior in office has proven the framers correct.

Well, our 15 year old business is in bad shape, so don't look to me for advice. Honestly, I don't know who would invest in any business right now because Obama is changing the rules daily. Just look at the healthcare proposals! What happens to independent plans? What about health savings accounts? What happens to cafeteria plans? What about 401ks? How does anybody do any future planning at all? Are we even allowed to discuss it without getting our names put in some data bank?

Can't really tell who was posting what in 7,072 but, there is nothing in U.S. Code 1401 that gives Natural Born Status.

They may be a National and a Citizen but they are not Natural Born Citizens, that includes Illegal Alien children.

The very first line says there is not even a way to confer citizenship to a child of an illegal alien “(a) a person born in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof;”

The parent is a citizen of another country and under that country's Jurisdiction. That makes the baby a citizen of the country their parents are citizens of.

In Barrack’s case, his father was a citizen of Kenya and that makes Barry's citizenship status a divided birth.

You can only be NBC if both parents are citizens of the US and subject to the jurisdiction of the US.

An example of jurisdiction would be the parents take a trip to Cuba. That is against federal law and prohibited to American Citizens, Natural or not.

If, however, the parents are from France, they are perfectly free to travel to Cuba with no fear of prosecution, as they are under the jurisdiction of France as citizens of said country. France has no prohibition against travel to Cuba but, if they did, the parents could only be charged under French laws for whatever crime they committed.

That is why people who commit crimes, in the USA, that will likely result in a prosecution under our laws, seek countries that have no extradition treaty or have strict guidelines for extradition.

The criminal of this country would not and could not be charged with a crime that was not committed in violation of the laws of another country.

I believe we do know. It has never been put to the test and no one has been charged with the responsibility to verifying eligibility.

Barry signed oaths affirming his eligibility but unlike qualifying for passport no one was charged with the background work.

What happens to independent plans?

Nationalized. There's money to be seized in them.

What about health savings accounts? What happens to cafeteria plans?

Nationalized. There's money to be seized in them. Besides, cafeteria plans assume that people are capable of making better choices for themselves than their betters.

What about 401ks?

Nationalized. There's money to be seized in them.

How does anybody do any future planning at all?

Why would anyone need to plan? That's why we have a government in the first place!

Are we even allowed to discuss it without getting our names put in some data bank?

What's wrong with data bases? Do you have something to hide, Citizen???

I'm starting to get some traction suggesting that we set up actual manufacturing in New Zealand...
