Sounds par for the course with these thugs....
"On one occasion at a church ceremony I omitted to take the fee of 7s.6d. Luckily I discovered the home of one of the parties was being used for the reception. It was a large house with a crescent shaped drive. On arriving I quickly discovered I was the only cyclist. I boldly knocked on the door. The fee was found, regrets were expressed, and everything was complete. " Later on the same page, we find this more encouraging note that had the same sum in legislation dating back to the 1830's for registration of births in certain circumstances:
"The new Act provides for this by appointing District Registrars who are "authorised and required to inform themselves carefully of every Birth and of every Death which should happen within their respective Districts, after the last day of June, an d without claiming fee or reward from the persons requiring the Registration, if the information of Birth is given within 42 days, and of death within 5 days after the event, to register same, according to the prescribed form, under a penalty of £50. But those parents who shall neglect to have the Births of their children registered within 42 days will subject themselves to much additional trouble, and to fees of 7s.6d."
In summary, would it have been so odd if similar fees were applied around the British Empire and Commonwealth? Likewise, would it have been so odd for former colonies, as newly formed republics to simply retain the basic form that had been in use for decades?
I'm not convinced that the Shilling/Pence/Cents issue is a disqualifier, just because of the change of the monetary denominations went from Pence to Cents. Old bureaucratic habits die hard.

Think like a lawyer for a moment, Windy. You’re a lawyer who goes into politics and the time is ripe for you to strike upward and highward. The problem is this one little eentsy weentsy constitutional requirement. So you try your best to get something that will pass and hope it won’t draw any interest. OOPS, it draws interest. So you do what you can to misdirect, ahem — AVOID DISCOVERY, play the race card, play whatever cards you have other than produce the longform BC. When the whole thing becomes a scandal, your plan was that you’d hoped it would be in your second term or at least late enough so people got used to you being president and too late to undo what you’d done. Then your plan is to say, “gosh, golly, gee sorry”, cry like Dick Nixon in his Checkers speech, and hope that congress doesn’t impeach you, which they won’t. It was all just an honest mistake, can’t we work somethin’ out? That’s probably zer0bama’s plan. For it to work he needs to drag out discovery and everything else for as long as he can. Where he screwed up was in backing down on Major Cooke. He shoulda just let him file his lawsuit, ignore it, let it even go into later phases with no comment and then start hemming & hawing about what a waste of time this is, put Cooke in jail and run criminal desertion charges against him. Let that trial go on and on and on & on... bleh bleh bleh, even I’m losing interest as I WRIte this strategy, how long before the MSM forgets who Cooke was? That was Obama’s misstep and we get to capitalize on it.

As you know, the term natural born citizen do not exist in any US statute (including 1401).
It is possibilities like the one you posted among other things that make me vary of just calling the whole thing a fraud. In the end it may be that the 7s 6d actually strengthens the likelihood that the document is genuine.
There is - or at least was - so much "arcana" in British (and Imperial) legal and administrative routines that unless you are an expert on these issues it is very easy to come to the wrong conclusion.
BTW did you know that for a short time there was an English coin 7s 6d ? It was called the Angel. The value of the coin varied throughout history (6s 8d) when it was introduced in the 14th century and 11s when it was last coined during the English Civil War.
However, the Angel was an iconic coin and though it hasn't been in use for more than 400 years the name still lives on in the names of pubs and underground stations.
To expand a little on my post from earlier noting the difference in the 1s on the Aussie BC. A few Freepers have suggested that perhaps the person that created the Aussie BC used the actual #1 key for the 10th of April and then fell back into old habits and used the lower case l throughout the rest of the document. I agree that it is very possible but something was still bugging me about how different the number 1 looked compared to everything else.
I tested some old typewriter fonts online: Typewriter Gothic & Typewriter.
I typed in 12345 and LLLLL (lower case though) so I could see the difference, if any, between the number 1 and the lower case l.
On the left is the Typewriter Gothic font which shows a number 1 similar to that on the Aussie BC which seems out of place. Notice that neither the number 1 nor the lower case l have the _ at the bottom.
On the right is the Typewriter font which shows the number one and the lower case l to be the same.
If an old typewriter had a functioning 1 key, would the lower case l look similar to the Typewriter Gothic font above? Meaning, would both the 1 and the lower case l be missing the _ at the bottom?
Would it be possible for an old typewriter to have two different ‘fonts’?
If you go to the site to read that article, right next to the part of the threatened talk show host who they won’t name is an ad with a photo of Bill O’Reilly! Lol

“I consistently come down on the side of reasonableness. Im a foe of Obama and the liberal political philosophy. Im also a foe of people who claim to be experts but are not.”
You sound just like Obama. Always righteous, always right. Typical liberal.

The Northeast Intelligence Network and Canada Free Press are in possession of extremely sensitive investigative documents, including a stunning written admission by a nationally known talk show host stating that he was threatened with his career or worse - should he talk about the issue of Barack Hussein Obamas birth records to a national audience. This document was obtained on December 10, 2008, and provides explicit detail of a gag order imposed on this host before and immediately following the national election last November." |
