As some of you may have noticed, recently the Republican Party has begun cracking down on the "birthers", realizing that openly supporting the most crazy members of your party is, well, problematic for appealing to non-crazy people. This, of course, leads to even more crazy, as they turn on their leaders for hiding the "truth". It's a drat shame to let all this crazy go to waste, when properly cultivated and raised it could be so much more.
So welcome to the first FreeRepublic Infiltration Contest! We're going to infiltrate freerepublic as agents provocateur. This can take several forms; post absurdly insane/racist/whatever drivel and see if you can get people to agree with it. See if you can start a new line of crazy (it might help to have some other people assisting you with this), start the next "Barak Obama is a secret muslim" "Clinton has had dozens of people killed" "let's start an eve online corporation dedicated to the principles of libertarianism, whoops mommy cut me off give me money for rent I can't survive on my own, whoops I stole everything that wasn't nailed down to ebay for rent since I can't survive in the real world, whoops people faxed pictures of my dick to my law firm LIBERTARIANISM FOREVER". It's probably unnecessary even to back up any claims with supportable facts - make them up. Hell, that you can find references elsewhere on the internet might make it seem sketchy to these people, just use the echo chamber effect.
To participate, you need to register your account with me beforehand - this is to prevent people from taking credit for just general-issue nutters. Do this by pm'ing the name to me (and preferably a link to the user profile), or emailing it to me at evilweasel@somethingawful.com. DO NOT POST IT IN THIS THREAD. There's a decent chance that someone will point this thread out to the freeper community, so we want as little information they can use in this thread. This offers another fun thing you can do: successfully convince the community to ban their own members who are not actually goons once they start witch-hunting. Fortunately since many people have made accounts to troll freerepublic in the past, only banning recent registrations won't help them. Also, it's probably best you not use links to free republic from here to get to the site in case they catch on and start looking at referrers to find the plants.
Winners will receive praise, adulation, and potentially fabulous prizes. Losers will bear the shame of being outwitted by the dumbest people on the internet. Screenshot successes and email them (and a link) to me. Since posting them might blow your cover, I'll be holding on to them for a month or two.

There have been trolls who logged on an got accounts months even years ago. They let them sit until some kid in mommies basement calls them to action.
Easy to figure out, no posting history and all of a sudden they want to kill Obama when they get on here. (no that’s not a threat).

They are not going to pass single payer immediately for that reason.
Perhaps not ever. More likely we are going to end up with some kind of two tier system. That’s what Canada is heading towards as well, because the single payer system is bankrupt.
If they do manage to pass it, the only way to scuttle it is to bankrupt it before it gets rolling.
What you aren’t considering is our ability to do that when this nation is in a near depression situation, and the government is strapped for cash as well.
we can do both things, get rid of this government and destroy democrats for a long long time, AND destroy the socialized medicine concept.
Or we can sit and watch it happen, because that’s the only other option I’ve heard so far.

a smart way to check on posting comments to someone is always to check their “page” and their join date and that tells you how long they have been here and thereby ferret out real trolls and other gar’bage... am I not correct?
We can't thank them enough for this thankless job. Kudos to them, espcially when we're under attack like this.
This country can't afford a California sized single payer system never mind one with 300 million people and 10% of that not working.
Long story short, that's a 30 trillion dollar bill.
That's extremely fluffy however. imagine the massive unemployment and loss of GNP that we'd get when the entire insurance industry in this country collapses, because it's sustained by the current health care set up we have now.
NOBODY is adding these numbers up.
I'd be suprized if this country wasn't in full riot and burning to the ground in short order if the RATS were stupid enough to push through welfare health care, and stick the knife the rest of the way into this countries back.

Can you show me just one major piece of evidence proving that these people care about whether or not we can afford it?
They want to overwhelm the system.
They are deliberately ‘taxing’ the system to create chaos and desperation.
They will spend us OUT OF OPTIONS and ultimately ‘force’ acquiescence.
They will rip off the arm of capitalism and beat it to death with its own limb (Fannie, Freddie, GM, banks, unions, etc.).
The aim is to demoralize, to create desperation, to make you hurt, actually. Hurt so much that you are willing to take their offering of ‘mercy’—dependence on the state, endless sacrifice from/to your neighbor.
Obviously, they cannot do this all at once. But socialized medicine is the last straw. It will, all by itself, lead to the fall of the USA as you all have known and loved it.
It is liberty rot on wheels. In 10 to 20 years most won’t remember what they were fighting for much less put up a fight. The beginnings of this are already evident, in fact.
The next generation will have THEIR BODIES ‘taken care of’ by the state—the paradigm has shifted just then, and the practiced concept of REAL freedom is but a distant memory for an aging minority—who will receive ‘end of life’ counseling every five years until they cease to burden the people’s medical system.

Only if we allow it to. THAT is the key. As I have tried to explain as best I can in limited words, there is no way they can implement that kind of system overnight.
It's financially and logistically impossible. Our system is just not set up to operate that way.
It will come in stages, no question. One of the best ways to defeat it is to bankrupt it before it can get off the ground, that's all I began saying.
It will take a few years and a few changes of governments to be able to implement any kind of single payer system in this country. As I mentioned in my last post, the collapse of the insurance industry that our current system is build on will be devastating. There are millions of jobs directly and indirectly supported by the 900 or more companies that operate in every state, which represents hundreds of THOUSANDS of office buildings in the cities of this country, which the Democrats are proposing should VANISH!
It simply can't be done in a single session of congress.
YES! We must resist all attempts to socialize our system.
We have the best, and cheapest health care system in the world. Yes there are problems with it, but they are easy problems to fix. The problem is Democrats and some elitist republicans don't want to fix them. That isn't their desire and agenda. It's socialized medicine regardless of the cost.
It isn't game over if they pass this bill. What it is however, is last call to get organized and take this country back.

This is a country that is run on constitutional law. If Obama is found to be ineligible to hold office, it means every bill congress and the senate passed, every executive order, is invalid.
He is a Usurper.
The battle to uphold the law in this country, which will include recinding every order and bill passed during his illegal occupation of the whitehouse, is something we are probably going to have to fight very hard for. And it includes the attempt to socialize health care.
