The entire birther argument, that Obama was actually born in Kenya instead of the US, making him ineligible for holding the office of the President of the US, is a spurious argument. It plays into Obama and the liberals hands - they want this to continue since it makes regular conservatives and opponents into fringe wackos.
Not one of us would've looked harder at his legitimacy than Hilary Clinton and the entire Clinton smear machine during the Democratic primaries. That magic bullet would've given Hilary the presidency - and yet nada, bupkis.
There are many valid reasons to oppose Obama and the liberals, but his birthplace isn't one of them.
It’s ten bucks to release this wonderful documentation they claim exists. Get real. If you have nothing to hide, you cough it up. You don’t hire multiple law firms to prevent it.
And espeically if you were someone who really cared about the legitimacy of the actions of the executive branch of our government.

I wrote what I did just to remind people that the next time the MSM writes another ‘birthers’ are crazy conspiracy kooks’ article, maybe some conservatives will take solace in remembering that the left has forgotten more about creating crazy conspiracy theories than the right will ever know. I just read another thread where a letter-to-the-editor reprint discussed, among other things, how the left accused GWB of sending people to war just so they could get killed and save us from having to pay SS benefits. This is the type of unprovable crap that the left spits out on a regular basis, seemingly for sport, and the most of the folks who are labeling birthers as unhinged nutcases don’t even blink at the nonsense the left generates.

Spurious in that it is not based on any facts at all, and further spurious based on *ignoring* facts.

Strawman argument. He never asserted any privilege. No other US president has been asked to provide original birth certificates.
What Obama has produced is sufficient documentation for anyone to prove place of birth in getting passport etc.

What you have is someones opinion of the meaning of a phrase in a judicial opinion that is itself tangential to the issue.
That is not proof of anything.

The entire birther argument for me is whether he is a NBC. I pretty much don’t care where he was born, just to who.
It is true. There is no case law because the only Constitutional provision calling for a natural born citizen has never been litigated.
There are all sorts of opinions as to what it means, based on everything from royal decrees from the days of Edward III to immigration laws of 1986.
