Dear Freepers, Don't Back a Losing Argument: Just Accept the Fact Obama was born in Hawaii (Vanity)
Self ^ | July 30, 2009 | Edward Watson

Posted on 07/30/2009 8:35:25 PM PDT by Edward Watson

The entire birther argument, that Obama was actually born in Kenya instead of the US, making him ineligible for holding the office of the President of the US, is a spurious argument. It plays into Obama and the liberals hands - they want this to continue since it makes regular conservatives and opponents into fringe wackos.

Not one of us would've looked harder at his legitimacy than Hilary Clinton and the entire Clinton smear machine during the Democratic primaries. That magic bullet would've given Hilary the presidency - and yet nada, bupkis.

There are many valid reasons to oppose Obama and the liberals, but his birthplace isn't one of them.

...like most members of the conservative movement, I am sure Obama was born in Honolulu.

An incredible assumption. Like all of your arguments in Zero's defense.

Listen, if you don't require hard evidence of Obama's eligibility, and the exact circumstances of his citizenship, then so be it. Stop trying to convince the rest of us to shut up and take Obama at his word.

We prefer actual proof, if you don't mind.

“Thanks for standing in tonight as the poster boy for those who treat our Constitution like toilet paper, and blithely destroy our country with an arrogant sneer on their faces.”

This is a genuinely poisonous statement. It is intemperate, scurrilous, and low. It is just not proper, not conservative, not disciplined. Please reconsider your emotional state.

And leave the hyperbole to experts

I just call them what they are: unprincipled, lying hacks.

That’s good you believe them - someone has to. After all, politics are clean and whatever one is shown, they is no reason not to believe.

Moreso, when this president has does wonders for this country. Jobs galore, business is booming, military is proud of their CIC, he’s traveled the world letting them know America is strong and warned the terrorist don’t expect a vacation in Bermuda is you mess w/us. The fact he went to a ‘hate whitey’ G*d dam America’ church means nothing - after all, he certainly hasn’t demonstrated that he hates America or would never call a ‘by the book’ arrest by a white cop stupid for any reason.

Would never have any one fired because they found evidence against his friend or have a military office fired from his private job. Or have someone take a fall because his airplane flew over ground zero w/o his knowledge. There is no reason not to believe all you are told - after all, this is America.

Yep. Both parents have to be citizens for a child to be a natural born citizen.

Please reconsider your emotional state.

I stated those facts with all the emotion of a Vulcan.

Accusing your opponent of emotionalism, when none is in evidence, is nothing more than a cheap tactic.

“Its not a neutral word, its a made up word”

So what? Who said nicknames had to be real words? It’s very common to add the suffix “-er” to root words to describe people. For instance: trucker, one who is occupied operating a vehicle known as a truck; fryer, one who performs the action of frying; or New Yorker, someone who resides in New York. Hence Birther, someone who is interested in the Barrack Obama birth certificate issue.

Honestly, if you are not on the *Obama* team, your side doesnt really know how much the lawyers bills are adding up. It’s just a guess without first-hand documented source.

In any case the claim of “The lawsuit defendent is spending money on lawyers, so he must be guilty” is a very lame one. I know a personal family member who spent $10,000 defending himself from a bogus incident that came about because a TSA employee decided to harrass him and make his life miserable. He got booked and charged over nothing, the TSA destroyed/ ‘lost’ the video then put in contradictory claims, etc. I’d bet the birther-type Freepers would want him in jail since he clearly is guilty as sin for spending money on lawyers, when in fact he was the one who was wronged.

Bozo...here is your source

The best “source” is Obama’s birth certificate but you dance around that issue

“Again... source? “

The source has been posted on almost every BC thread. If you haven’t read it by now, you just won’t.

But, only 2 citizens can bear a NBC.

1. Natural born citizen is not Constitutionally defined. We do not have precedent to establish the meaning of this.

2. If natural born citizen means someone who does not need to be naturalized, then there is not and never has been a requirement for both parents to be citizens.

3 - What argument do you make for a requirement for two parents ?
