Several readers have written over the past few days taking us to task for dismissing so-called birthers as lunatics without bothering to refute their claims. We reluctantly concede their point. The birthers have managed to sow confusion in the minds of some who are not lunatics, and for the latter group’s benefit it is worth clarifying matters.

Stop fixating on the long form BC. Yes, we would wonder if it is faked. Why? Because this group has repeatedly demonstrated their willingness to destroy and fake documents. We are not dealing with forthright, honorable and trustworthy people here.

But the real smoke here is all of the history/records in total. And the serious effort to hide the history that is public knowledge with other Presidents and national politicians.

It’s not the BC in and of itself, it is the virtual blackout on all the other history of this guy and the lengths to which they are willing to go to hide [what is usually] mundane and boring biographical information.

Bill Clinton refused to release his medical history other than to have a doctor say he was healthy. We were all kooks for expecting him to release what every Republican candidate and President has been expected (by the left) to release.

They are the ones making a BFD out of records that no one else had had a problem making public. They are the ones foaming at the mouth. If BO had pulled out his original BC the same time as McCain did (after McCain’s was DEMANDED by the left) this would have died right then and there.

IMO, the man is entitled to no privacy. OK? He says he can tell me when and if I can see a doctor of his choosing. But I can’t see his school records? Bull.

When all presidents before him have done so without embarrassment, you think its OK for Obama to remain the only president in history who hasn’t shown any real identification.

According to you, the American people don’t need to see Obama’s transcripts, his travel records, or his long form birth certificate. Information George Bush and Bill Clinton had to provide to the press is OK for Obama to conceal.

They latch onto this because they want to believe it is true.

Truthfully, I want the issue to be false. I want obama to present proof of his birth and identity. I WANT him to be a bona fide Constitutionally eligible citizen. I want him to put the birther conspiracy to rest.

I WANT obama to end this, and end it well, because the alternative is terrible.

I do not want to continue to suspect- or find out someday- that one man knowingly perpetrated a scam against the American people and the US Constitution because he saw himself as above our law and above us.

A man like that would do anything. We are not safe with him in the White House. The world is not safe. It may never be safe again.

And I do NOT want to find out that gullible, obsequious, partisan, greedy, arrogant, timid or evil people and institutions corrupted themselves and everything we hold dear to hide this conspiracy... to obscure this man's true identity and to support his lies.

I do not want to know the worst, but I need to know either way.

Both political parties. The US Supreme Court. The past 4 presidents who are still living. The intelligence agencies of the USA and every other nation of the free world. The media. All of them. They are supposed to represent every institution and ideal we hold in trust.

If we lose trust in these agencies to do the right thing and if they not only fail us but scorn and attack us for asking - then we are each on our own. Nothing holds us up except our own core beliefs.

So I WANT this to end well for obama. Because then it ends well for America. But I want it to end, soon. So we can move forward.
