“Why do the Republican Senators desperately want to get to “yes?” Who are they working for? They have lost sight that they are representatives of the people and through back room deals, literally in the dark of night, seek to become our rulers.”

Maybe because the Dems have infiltrated the Repub Party with “Republicans”?

Right. After all the Federal income tax started out at only a 2 percent tax and only on the highest incomes.

Now look at it.

Once the “Cuba Health Care” bill is passed, in any form, the monster is born and will grow uglier and bigger over time.

USSA here we come.

Thanks for posting all of the contact info for easy access. It is appreciated. Both of my republican senators have the answering service on and no way to leave messages right now. It really pisses me off the way our elected oficials now deem us such a bother. WE ARE THEIR BOSSES!!

Everytime these crazy marxist bills are getting rammed through Congress..they all take their phones off the hook!

IT’S TIME TO TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK!!

KEEP CALLING,FAXING AND EMAILING FOLKS!!

Third party, here I come.

Hey Phil, I'll save all the GOP koolaid drinkers the time of replying to you.

You're throwing your vote away!!

A third party vote is a vote for the Democrat!!

We need to work within the GOP to change it!!

There ya go

I’ve called and emailed ad nauseum, too. This may seem like preaching to the choir, but I think that I MUST call all fellow Freepers to prayer against this bill and any middle-of-the-night machinations. I can only imagine the threats, pressure, intimidation, bullying, promises, and payoffs being applied. In addition to our actions, which at this point include everything but storming the White House, let’s pray that God’s hand will intervene. They can ignore us peons, but God has pressure of His own that no amount of ridicule or mockery can resist.

There are six Senators who are writing the Senate version of health care reform, 3 Republicans and 3 Democrats. The Republicans are: Grassley of Iowa, Enzi of Wyoming and Snowe of Maine.
The Democrats are Baucus of Montana, Bingaman of New Mexico and Conrad of North Dakota.

As par, politicians will ignore the will of the majority, just as they did with the stimulus, bailouts of Wall Street, bailouts of GM and Chrysler, etc. Ignorant bastards.

That means 4 Dems, 2 Republicans. Snowe is NO Republican. She isn’t a RINO either. She’s a closet lib.

Well to be the contrarian here, the Republicans have negotiated out the public option, requirement for employers to carry insurance and or any penalty, the private insurance sunset provisions and most of the substantive ways of funding this mess. They have created a bill that the liberals will not go for. Still sucks and wish none of this abortion passes but they may have just negotiated a way out of this mess as it will not pass the Senate anyways.

I agree. They have negotiated out of govt control. However, I am not so sure that this won’t pass.

Co-ops don’t sound like a bad idea to me. Can someone tell me what is wrong with a co-op? Thanks...

If someone wanted to organize a voluntary co-op on a local level I wouldn’t care.

My county has a clinic for those who don’t qualify for Medicaid but need medical attention, no health insurance. Doctors donate their time and everyone pays something on a sliding scale. The rest is funded by private entities, I believe, though don’t know details.

The problem with a co-op or any other federal gov’t plan is two-fold: devil is always in the details, one, and it would just be a foot in the door while they work to turn it into the government-run option, two.

Depending on other items in the bill it could cause private plans to disappear by various means, leading to their ultimate plan all along.

FYI, early on in this thread they were discussing this and concluded that the recalls in those states are for their state senators, not for their federal senators.
