Remember this Story? "Thousands lined the streets to greet Bush and school children in uniforms waved Ghana's green, yellow and red flag."

No. I don’t remember people lining up for blocks in the hot sun, waving flags, smiling, cheering, etc. to greet President Bush. I’m certain that you must be mistaken.

If the Media didn’t cover it, it didn’t happen. /SARCASM

Good grief, I mean Ghana is practically next door to Obama’s birthplace (Kenya). Have they no regard for a fellow African?

"Only small crowds greet Obama during Ghana visit"

What?!

I thought the whole country couldn't wait for his coming and for his arrival riding on his ass. I thought they would be lining his route by the millions.

What happened?

But his main speech was delivered indoors at a nearby conference center because of fears over rain as well as fears it could cause a celebratory stampede, as a 1998 stop by President Bill Clinton nearly did.

ROTFL!

Small crowds for a small man.

Thanks for the notice about Bush. I am certain the LameStream Media missed this.

” When former President George W. Bush visited Accra last year, he also spoke to tens of thousands gathered at Independence Square.”

Bill Clinton nearly caused a stampede in 1998.
Apparently there were longer lines at McDonalds getting burgers than greeted Barry.

only relatively small crowds came out to meet him in Ghana's capital

Looks like the sub-saharans have things like famine, pestilence, and AIDS to concern themselves with, not the latest stop on the Obamas Extreme Makeover World Tour.

Despite the huge excitement and anticipation surrounding Obama's first trip to sub-Saharan Africa as president, only relatively small crowds came out to meet him in Ghana's capital.

What's wrong with that sentence?

I mean, c'mon! Obama should have the entire continent eating out of his hand. Right?

Maybe they remember his earlier campaign stop with Odinga?

Yes, I remember, thanks to Free Republic.

"Under President Bush, Africa has got more from U.S. foreign policy than
any previous American presidency," Ghanaian Foreign Minister Akwasi
Osei-Adjei told Reuters in an interview before Bush's arrival.

Bush of Africa

"......Mr. Bush hasn't gotten much credit for this among the American public,
but, as a BBC interviewer noted yesterday, his approval rating in Africa is
in the 80% range, which is astonishingly high....."
