CPAC Chairman: Palin Not Ready for Presidential Run

By: Ronald Kessler
Sarah Palin needs to stop whining about unfair media coverage and get over the fact that some people dont like her, Dave Keene, chairman of the American Conservative Union, tells Newsmax.
Palin doesnt seem to get that politics is a tough game, says Keene, one of the countrys most astute political observers.
The American Conservative Union, with 1 million members, runs the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington and publishes an annual "Rating of Congress," the gold standard for ideological assessments of members of Congress.
Youve got to recognize that there are people who want you to fail, Keene says. And if you spend your time worrying about them, or whining about what they say, at the very least itll get you off your game, because you ought to be worried about what youre going to do, not about what theyre going to do to you.
Resigning as governor of Alaska only compounded Palins problems, which have been accumulating since the November election, Keene says.
In the period leading up to the resignation, she needed to get over the fact that people didnt like her, Keene says. Get over the fact that she harbored resentment for the McCain people that used her. All of those things are true, but she got more out of it than they did, and she had to begin to move on with what she needed to establish in terms of her own image, to move to the next level. And she delayed doing that.
"Now it becomes more difficult because of the way in which she bailed out on the governorship.
“watch Dems pick more seats and win more elections”
What, so are you saying that we should just nominate any one with a “Republican” label, as long as they have a “chance of winning”???? Such as RINO Charlie Crist in Florida??? NO WAY, going with Marco Rubio on that one.
You CAN’T listen to what the liberals say about Gov. Palin! They are ALL a bunch of lying, poisonous snakes! SARAH is the ONLY ONE who can beat Obama! It is a FACT!
And she delivers RESULTS! Who else can bring in 20,000-30,000 people at short notice?????
Palin was the only one anyone liked. They voted for her hoping McCain would go away.
McStupid would have looked an even bigger loser without her.
I wasn’t aware too many liked Romney, who is their man.
Well hell, they still don’t.
There’s a train a coming named Palin and CPAC and McLame and all the other RINO b.s. had either jump on board or get the hell out the way cause NO more RINOs.
supposed: *were supposedly*
I am waiting to see how fund raising goes for the national GOP and CPAC when she tells them to sod off.
I can only hope she does.
Then let’s compare that to the fundraising numbers for SarahPac and the individual candidates she stumps for...
Yes, and we all know how much CPAC helped us in the last elections. And, oh, they didn’t endorse Bush43, either.
It amuses me that these folks pronounce judgment on Sarah, like they know everything there is to know about her.
Well, we can hope he’ll apologize and eat crow someday.
Public criticism is rarely constructive.
It is true since there is a pig called the “Celtic Diva” going after her for every little detail.. She does need some work.. I think she is ready to run for President..
indylindy,
Romney is no conservative, he is an opportunist.
NO MORE RINOs.
“You’ve got to recognize that there are people who want you to fail,” Keene says. “And if you spend your time worrying about them, or whining about what they say, at the very least it’ll get you off your game, because you ought to be worried about what you?re going to do, not about what they’re going to do to you.”
Hey Keene, ya moron, you just described yourself. And you know what? I’m pretty sure Gov. Palin is going to take your adivce here and ignore you. As am I from now on...
And, it's not yet 2012. Cool how such things work out, eh?
You got center stage...Can you tell me what 25 years of listening to what a republican is suppose to be,then voting for something less, has gotten us?
Seems to me Palin represents about 90 percent of what my core conservative values are, that is way better than what I have voted for since the Gipper!
Exactly right. Killing the messenger is rarely productive.
And so Free Republic continues its transformation from a conservative news forum to a Sarah Palin fansite. Conservatism is now defined by the intensity of one’s fanaticism for her, and any criticism or skepticism is grounds for excommunication.
A conservative gives Governor Palin some constructive criticism.
Where is that proven? This asshat is about as conservative as you are.
Now, having said that, I think she can do a world of GOOD for the conservative cause without running for President.
And I hope she does.
I did contribute to her legal defense fund, and hope others here will do the same. She is facing $500K in legal fees.
You can give as little as $5.
I know it would help.
ROFL! Spot on!
